as donations to the food bank there. It was voted to
bring toiletries, toothbrushes, tooth paste, combs,
shampoo, etc., to the next meeting to give to the

Pittsfield met the evening of October 14th, in the
church vestry with 18 members attending. Peggy Jacobs,
President, opened the meeting and turned it over to Sue
Case who led devotions. She gave a reading regarding
women, entitled “Why Don’t I Like Her, Lord?” Followed
by a prayer and all joining in the Lord’s Prayer.
Secretary, Joan Riel read the report of the previous
meeting which had been prepared by Kathy Bergeron. Reny
Boyd gave her financial report, noting the Guild had
given $1500.00 toward the renovations of the Ladies
Parlor/Nursery. A letter was read from Maddy Rogers.
Reports were heard from Elsie Morse, Chairman of the
Christmas Fair and Joan Riel, Chairman of the Craft
Fair. Joan reported that posters for both fairs are
printed (thanks to Bev Moore), as well as the Craft Fair
contracts which have been mailed out.
Elsie spent a great deal of time on the November 22nd
Fair regarding set up, workers for the various tables,
food donations for the Ladies Aid Table and then Audrey
Moore solicited needs for the corn chowder luncheon.
Eleven cards were signed for the sick, shut-in, and away
members. The Mystery Package, brought by Freda Jones was
won by Marge Stapleton.
The Food Basket is at Bev Moore’s and going next to

Letter To The Editor
To The Editor:
As I read these Letters To The Editor, I’m reminded of
an old saying - “If it sounds too good to be true, it
probably is.”
Obama sounds good, just as Hillary did. What I want to
know is - How many bills, as senators, did they sponsor,
that reflects what they’re saying they will do as
President? If they didn’t do it then, how can they do it
now? They can promise anything, but can they deliver?
The House and Senate have to pass these bills.
Sarah Palin as Governor of Alaska got $1.87 per person.
NH politicians got only 75¢ which do you like best?
People complain every election, we get the same old
politicians running for office. Now a fresh, down to
earth, young woman, chooses to run and she’s cut down
for lack of experience, neither does Obama. That’s why
he chose Biden to cover his rear.
Obama is totally pro-abortion, even to producing
embryos for experiments. As a Christian, I can’t vote
for a man with such morals and if you serve God, and
uphold Bible teachings, you can’t either.
Respectfully,
Ebenezer

TOPS #NH 38, Pittsfield
Making Sense of Salad
Salads are an important component of weight loss
efforts. Start with crisp fresh greens. While all
varieties are low in calories, darker lettuces offer
more vitamins. A wide variety of fresh fruit and
vegetables are good choices for salads; but, to make
salad a meal, add healthy protein. Chopped egg, shrimp,
tuna, chicken breast, and low-fat cheese are all good
choices. Choose low-fat salad dressings, and avoid high
calorie toppings like croutons and olives. Join your
local TOPS club to learn more about how to lose weight
and keep it off. TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) meets
weekly on Tuesday evenings at St. Stephen’s Church on
Main Street, Pittsfield, beginning at 6:30.
Call Pat Smith at 435-5333 for more information.
Fall Clean-Up At Lyman Park
The Pittsfield Historical Society will be having its
Fall Clean-up at Lyman Park at 8 a.m. on Saturday,

welcome. Just come and bring your rake and a pair of
gloves and be willing to work for a few hours.
Joseph and his Jolly Jacket Jump For Joy
The Pittsfield Players are proud to announce their next
exciting production, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
Dreamcoat,” taking the stage in November. Directed by
veteran actor and director, Jeff Gregoire, this musical
show will keep audiences of all ages entertained and
humming the popular melodies all the way home.
“Joseph” is the story of a young man from biblical times
who is the apple of his father’s eye. While his brothers
are dressed in desert drab, Joseph receives a beautiful
multi-colored coat from his father. The jealous
brothers, after hearing about Joseph’s latest silly
dream, decide to strip him of his coat, and throw him in
a ditch to die. At the last minute, the traveling band
of Ishmaelites agrees to take him as a slave and pay the
brothers for him. What to tell father? The brothers kill
a goat, bloody up the famous coat, and sadly deliver a
concocted story telling Dad that a wild animal killed
Joseph.
Meanwhile, Joseph has now become a prisoner of the
Egyptians. He is able to interpret the dreams of the
Pharaoh, however, when no one else can, and finds
himself placed in a high position as a reward. Years
later, when the famine that Joseph predicted from the
Pharaoh’s dreams comes to pass, Joseph’s brothers come
to beg for work and food. He is not recognized, but has
a surprise or two for them up his sleeve.
This production, in arrangement with Rogers and
Hammerstein Theatricals, boasts a cast of kids and
adults numbering more than 40 actors and singers.
Excellent costumes, choreography, props, lighting and
sound all work together for a fine production
highlighting the 40th anniversary of The Pittsfield
Players. It is not to be missed!
Show dates are: Nov. 14, 15, 21, and 22 at 8 p.m. and
Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Scenic Theatre, 19 Depot St.,
Pittsfield. Tickets are $15 and are available at
www.pittsfieldplayers.com, TicketLeap link, or by
calling 435-8852.
