Letter
Dear Pet Owners,
We all love to
have our pets travel with us, however
even on a cool 70 degree day, the inside
of a vehicle can reach up to 100 degrees
within minutes; even with the windows
slightly open.
Please reconsider bringing your pet
with you if you will have to leave it in
the vehicle for any length of time. It
only takes a few minutes for an animal
to become distressed by the heat.
If you see an animal left in a car
on a warm day, don’t assume they are OK,
please get involved, and try to locate
the owner or call your local police
department. Our voices are the only
voices animals have.
Thank you.

five volumes on Pittsfield’s World War

After 12 years the Historical
Society has finally completed collecting
information about Pittsfield’s World War

was gathered, five books were necessary
to report all of the findings. They
contain over 450 biographies of men and
women and over 350 pictures of these
true American patriots.
Volume I
discusses veterans who served in the
Army in the United States and Northern
Europe. Volume II discusses veterans who
served in the Army in North Africa,
Southern Europe and the Pacific. Volume
III discusses veterans who served in the
Army Air Corps. Volume IV discusses
veterans who served in the Coast Guard,
Marines, Merchant Marines and Navy.
Finally, Volume V discusses female
veterans and veterans loosely associated
with Pittsfield.
On Thursday
evening, June 10 in the Community Center
on Main Street at 7:00 p.m. [NOT at
Society Headquarters on Elm Street]
authors Larry Berkson and Robert Moulton

each book is $20.00 ($85.00 for the set)
plus $5.00 shipping for the first book
and $2.00 for each subsequent book. Or
those attending the signing on the 10th
