Northwood Crankpullers.jpg

The Northwood CrankPullers Snowmobile Club held their Landowners Appreciation Dinner on May 6 with a potluck supper provided by the club members.  It’s our way of saying how much we really do appreciate the use of your land for our trails.  These were the landowners who attended and hopefully more will attend next year. A very special “Thank You” to Bob at the Northwood Diner for his allowing us the use of the diner and to Tracy for making us a beautiful cake for dessert.  It was great meeting and visiting with you all.

Northwood Else Cilley.jpg

Regent Jan Gilman (left) congratulates new members Sandy Taylor-Stockus of Nottingham (center) and Any Gervino of East Hampstead (right) to the Else Cilley Chapter, NSDAR during the April meeting.

The Else Cilley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had its first meeting of the year at the home of newly elected Regent, Nancy Gervino. Nancy hosted the meeting along with her daughter, Amy, and outgoing Regent Jan Gilman. Members as well as new and perspective members learned about the various online opportunities for both members and the public. The slate of new officers was installed and new members were presented with a silk rose and DAR handbook.

The business meeting included the President General’s message and a National Defense message prepared by Peg Franz. Reports of officers and committee chairpersons were given. Members shared fundraising ideas.

Women interested in joining the DAR are encouraged to attend a meeting. The DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America’s future through education. The public is always welcome to attend. For more information, visit our website, www.freewebs.com/ecilleydar.

Marshall’s In Concert In Northwood

The Advent Christian Church in Northwood will host Bruce and Sharon Marshall in Concert on Sunday, May 26 at 6 pm. The church is located at 113 School St. Route 107.

The Marshalls have traveled extensively along the East Coast, Canada, and California bringing the good news of the gospel through ministry in God’s word and song for over 25 years. They have recorded two albums: “Singing His Praise” and “Joy to the World.”

Both Bruce and Sharon come from musical families where they were encouraged to use their gifts for the Lord. They currently live in Maine, have three children and five grandchildren. Sharon graduated Magna Cum Laud from the University of Maine in Gorham with her degree in Music Education. She has been the Minister of Music in several churches in New England.

Their music is a mixture of styles but the message remains the same; helping people come to know the Lord through a message of salvation, encouraging believers to a closer walk with the Lord, challenging believers to step out of their comfort zones, and creating a time of Praise and Worship.

The Marshall’s will be singing in the morning service at 10 am also, and the 6 pm concert sharing gospel and patriotic songs on this Memorial Day weekend. All are welcome to come. Concert is free, a love offering will be taken.
