Obituaries

George Pease, Jr.

George Pease, Jr., 76, died December 1, 2013 at Caribou Health Care Facility. He was born April 23, 1937 in Northwood, NH, the son of George Pease, Sr. and DorothyCorliss Pease.

He went to Coe-Brown Academy and was in the Air Force from 1954-57. He worked at Rumford Press and St. Paul’s School in Concord where he was fondly called, “the Bear.” Everyone loved our dad.

He was a long time resident of Epsom where we four kids, his grandchildren, family and friends have our happiest memories. Christmas was always special with a big Christmas Eve party with everyone welcome.

It was always fun to see George with his siblings. They would laugh and joke, having the best time doing nothing but being together.

In addition to his parents, George was pre-deceased by his wife of 30 years, Coni Pease, brother Richard Pease and grandson, Justin Poster.

He is survived by two daughters, Nicki Gagnon and husband George, Billie Blodgett and husband Skip, both from Deerfield; two sons, Dandi Pease and wife Sharon, and Loni Pease, both from Virginia; six grandchildren, April , Poster, Coni Baines, Matt Tavello, Raven Blodgett, Brianne Pease, Kiley Pease and six great-grandchildren; two brothers Kenny Pease and wife Betty, Charles Pease and wife Judy; three sisters, Marion Lovely and husband Joe, Joan Leffel and husband Lee, and Girace Pease spouse, Marie; sister in-law Sue Pease and many nieces and nephews.

George is also survived by his soulmate Jeannie Bernies, whom he has been with the past 15 years in Limestone, Maine. Together they laughed a lot, loved deeply, and lived life to its fullest every day. He was very fond of her children and family and many friends. As his four children, we say goodbye to a man we proudly called “DA.”

Mark L. Edwards

Mark L. Edwards, 87, passed away at the Concord Hospital with his longtime companion, Lois Nichols, by his side, on Friday, November 22, 2013, after a short illness.

A Northwood resident of 20 years, he was born on Prince Edward Island on June 4, 1926, the son of the late Arthur and Leona (Ohmes-Davis) Wasserman of Boston. He was raised in Boston, the oldest of four children.

Mark entered the Army Air Corps in 1942 and became a pilot – his lifelong passion.  He also held an Airplane and Powerplant mechanics license.

He was a Massachusetts constable for more than 20 years, holding as many as nine separate commissions in various cities and towns in Suffolk, Essex, and Middlesex counties.  In addition, he was a two-term budget committee member for the Town of Northwood.

He is survived by three daughters, Leta Markham of Milford, Patricia Edwards of St. Johnsbury, VT, and Eva Steven of Milford; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his life partner, Lois Nichols of Northwood.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Saturday, December 28th at 3 PM at the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Hwy in Epsom for a memorial service.

For those who wish, donations may be made to any animal shelter or rescue facility or humane society in Mr. Edwards’  name.
