Back by popular demand! Local author Rebecca Rule will hold another book signing at the Chesley Memorial Library on Wednesday, December 19, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Copies of her new book “The Iciest, Diciest, Scariest Sled Ride Ever!” will be available to purchase. This beautiful picture book kept a group of over fifty people enthralled at Becky’s first book signing… And autographed books make great Christmas presents.

On Wednesday, December 19th, at 6:30 p.m. there is going to be a free one-act play performed in conjunction with the Northwood School Band Concert. It is called “Toy School” and it features students in the third and fourth grades. It’s a student-driven production directed by Becky Rush and two 6th grade Drama Club students. The production crew is all middle schoolers. An eighth grader, Cassie Barnhart (the President of the Drama Club), is starring as Ms. Grouchstick with the 12 younger students as the toys. Come enjoy a wonderful production and hear the sweet music of our Northwood School Bands!

CBNA Honors Retiring State Senator

Northwood Barnes.jpg

Coe-Brown Northwood Academy (CBNA) honored retiring State Senator Jack Barnes (R-Raymond) with a plaque and Coe-Brown shirt at a recent assembly, bestowing upon him the title of “Honorary Bear.” His granddaughter, Allison Barnes of Deerfield, participated in the ceremony. Miss Barnes is a member of Coe-Brown’s Class of 2013.

Senator Barnes, the state’s longest-serving member, is retiring after representing District 17 for nearly 20 years. “Throughout his tenure Senator Barnes has been a strong supporter of Coe-Brown Northwood Academy,” says CBNA Headmaster David Smith. “He attended our assemblies on a regular basis to help us celebrate accomplishments such as athletic championships and milestones.”

Senator Barnes was in attendance at an assembly on Friday, December 14,  when the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association presented the State Championship Banner to the CBNA Girls Cross Country Team.

Coe-Brown Northwood Academy (CBNA), founded in 1867, is a small coeducational public-private secondary school accepting students in grades 9-12 and offering the highest quality curriculum of studies. The academy campus is located on the shores of Harvey Lake in Northwood, New Hampshire. For more information visit www.coebrown.org.
