Girl Scout Troop 10524 from Pittsfield recently came back from a
five day trip to Washington DC. The girls worked very hard for over
a year to raise money for this trip. We stayed at a hostel, visited
many monuments and memorials, explored the Air and Space Museum, the
Museum of American History, Museum of Natural History, saw the
Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and Constitution in the
archives, did activities at the Spy Museum and the Crime and
Punishment Museum, saw the Botanical Gardens and sculpture gardens,
and so much more! One highlight was a tour of the Capital Building.
Our intern from Kelly Ayotte’s staff was, Yvonne, a Girl Scout from
Northwood, NH! Yvonne’s mother is a Girl Scout leader in Northwood
also. What a small world! She was a great tour guide! This trip
would not have been possible without your help! Thank you to
everyone who bought cookies or fall product from the girls. Thank
you to all those who made private donations to help us raise funds.
Thank you to the Woman of Rotary and Lions Club for their donations.
And a big thank you to the Pittsfield Rotary who allowed us the
opportunity to host many dinners, including one for the balloon
rally. Without all of you our trip would not have been possible.
Thank you so much!!!
