Technology Conference At Chichester Central A Success

The Chichester Central School hosted a conference on “Learning and
Living with Technology in the 21st Century” on Saturday, January 12.
Nearly 30 workshop choices, which were all presented by Chichester
Central School teachers, were offered to parents, teachers, and
community members from Chichester, Allenstown, Deerfield, Loudon,
Pembroke, and Epsom.
The day included sessions such as: Apps for the iPad, electronic
assessments for math and reading, social networking, science
resources, apps and websites for 3rd and 4th grade, technology that
fosters home and school independence, Google docs, Live Binders,
Bubble it!, college and career exploration, Show Me, and Keeping
Kids Safe Online.
Feedback from those who attended included: “Very informative
workshop. Lots of neat apps and programs were introduced to me to
use”, “This was such a great workshop! The information presented was
extremely valuable. I am so glad I attended!”, “This was great. I
now can help my kids instead of the other way around!”, and
“Excellent, exceeded expectations. Great enthusiasm from the
instructor.”
The eighth grade students provided delicious breakfast and lunch
items and a Kindle with gift card was raffled off. The teacher
presenters were: Chris Gagnon, Jean Fifty, Bea Douglas, Christina
Carrier, Lisa Clark, Sarah Downer, Jane Heely, Kate Mara, Resa Audet,
Tara Beauchemin, Tony Cipriano, Chantal Duval, and Anne Lakeman.
