On Thursday evening, April 8 at 7:00 in Pittsfield Historical Society Headquarters on Elm Street, Leslie Vogt will present a history of Pittsfield’s libraries. Leslie will explain why Josiah Carpenter, a resident of Chichester, decided to donate a fully furnished library to the Town of Pittsfield. You’ll hear about the controversy that rocked the library before the doors of this “new” building even opened.
