Next time you drive by Gilmanton’s Year-Round Library, on Route 140 opposite the Gilmanton School, pause to admire the plantings adorning the site.   Donations from local businesses and gardeners have allowed the Year-Round Library Committee to create an attractive landscape around the building.

On October 4th Gilmanton resident, Russ Knowles, representing Pleasant View Gardens, of Loudon, donated and delivered more than 200 perennials, a beautiful Adams crab-apple tree and a dwarf spruce to the Gilmanton Year Round Library planting subcommittee.

John Bryant of Millican Nurseries in Loudon donated a majestic 10 foot balsam fir, delivery made by Dick Barr.

John and Carolyn Dickey of Parsonage Daylilies donated several clumps of heirloom daylilies and Dick and Sue Barr donated two 6 foot white lilacs along with various assorted perennials.

Members of the committee include Stan Bean, John and Carolyn Dickey and Dick and Sue Barr. The committee spent the day installing the wonderful donations. On Monday the 6th the same group of volunteers completed the project by spreading the bark mulch.
