Gilmanton Year-Round Library Forest Walk-a-thon
Walkers at the Gilmanton Year-Round
Library Walk-a-thon on Saturday, October 3 will support the Library
and explore the Cogswell Mountain conservation area.
On
October 3rd at 12:00 noon join the Forest Walk-a-thon at the
Gilmanton Year-Round Library. Have fun with friends, get some
exercise, and support the library all at the same time as we hike up
Cogswell Mountain behind the library. This event will raise money
to support library operations.
There
are two routes available. One is the short-loop course by the pond,
which goes past the observation platform overlooking the pond. The
longer route takes you up to the top of Cogswell Mountain and is
about a 2 mile course. Guides will be available along the course to
point out areas of interest and direct your way. There will also be
an opportunity to participate in a forest scavenger hunt.
Free
T-shirts will be given to the first 100 participants. Everyone can
enjoy a hot dog and drink after crossing the finish line. Prizes
will be awarded to the top earners during lunch.
and get your pledge sheet at the library or download a form by going
to www.gyrla.org and clicking on WALKATHON tab.
Questions should be directed to Anne Kirby (364-7498 or
[email protected]).
Please
support the library by participating in this event. All money
raised will be used to benefit the Gilmanton Year-Round Library’s
operations. Prizes donated by the Iron Works Market, Brookside
Pizza and Jordan’s Ice Cream.
