American Legion Post And Legion Auxiliary Of Gilmanton
Supporting Veterans
Join Now!
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic
veterans organization focusing on service to veterans, service
members and communities. Also founded in 1919, the American Legion
Auxiliary is the world’s largest patriotic women’s service
organization meeting the needs of veterans and keeping those needs
front and center in the minds of the American public!
The Ellis-Geddes-Levitt American Legion Post #102 of Gilmanton was
created in 1947 and the Auxiliary Unit in 1956. They have remained
active members of the veteran-support effort since that time and
continue to serve the military servicemen and women and military
families and needs of the community through many services including:
• Presentation of the American flag at occasions including Memorial
Day, 4th of July and graveside services
• Ruth A & Leonard A Stockwell Scholarship
• Bertha Pool White Sponsorship to Granite Girls State
• Memorial Day Ceremonies
• Donations to local service, veteran and community organizations
However, in recent years, fewer veterans and eligible
family members have chosen to join American Legion Posts or
Auxiliary units; and the needs of active service members and
veterans continue. These organizations need the help of the current
generation of veterans and women family members of active service
members and veterans. Help us in the support of local military,
veterans and their families by joining the American Legion or
Auxiliary Unit of Gilmanton. We will hold an open house at the
Gilmanton Corners Community Church on Sunday, June 14th at 2pm.
Veterans who are eligible for membership in the American Legion, or
women who are a wife or family member of a member of the American
Legion or a deceased Veteran are eligible to join the Auxiliary. If
you are unable to attend the Open House please feel free to contact
the Legion Commander at 364-7873 or the Legion Auxiliary at
[email protected] or see
www.ALANH102.org.
