Area Businesses Join In The Drive To Support
The Gilmanton Year-Round Library
Fund-raising events continue as the Gilmanton Year-Round Library
Board and friends work to keep the Library open through the current
fiscal year. Two area businesses offer special opportunities to
enjoy a meal while supporting the Library.
Patrick’s Pub and Eatery, in Gilford, invites Library patrons and
supporters to have lunch or dinner at Patrick’s. Stop by
during the week of September 8-12, and tell your server that you are
there to support the Library; 25% of your food purchase will go to
support the Library.
The Gilmanton Winery will serve dinner to Library
supporters on Saturday, September 14, at 6 pm. Reservations are
necessary and the cost is $50 per person. The menu includes
appetizers, soup, salad, roast beef, vegetables, all topped off with
apple pie and ice cream. Seating is limited so make your reservation
with payment to Gilmanton Year-Round Library. For details, check the
Library’s website:

GCC Food Pantry And Thrift Shop News
Thank you to everyone who donated items or money to help the GCC
Food Pantry put together much needed school supplies for Gilmanton
students in need. We, as always, appreciate all that you do to help
out your neighbors in need. With your support we were able to help
out 26 students who attend either Gilmanton School or Gilford High
School. Thank you so very much.
With back to school comes a 50% Off sale at the Thrift Shop. The
sale began on Monday, August 26th and will end on Saturday,
September 14th. All items in the shop with a Blue or Yellow barb are
50% Off. We have our fall and winter clothing and accessories out
in the shop now. So come on in and find some great bargains for the
entire family from now until Saturday, September 14th. Come in and
check out our Great selection of soccer cleats for all the athletes
in your family.
We are always looking for more volunteers at the GCC Food Pantry and
Thrift Shop. If you would like to help us out by volunteering,
please stop by the shop or call Jane Sisti at 364-7437. We thank
all of our current and past volunteers for helping us out with this
truly great mission.
We would like to remind you that the Thrift Shop only accepts
clothing and wearable accessories excluding jewelry. Please Do Not
leave bags or boxes of clothing outside the pantry door. Items have
recently been left outside and gotten wet or animals have gotten
into the bags and the clothing has been damaged and unusable. So
please, we appreciate your donations, but ask that you bring them to
the shop during our business hours. Thank you for your
understanding.
Food donations can be left in one of the collection boxes located at
the Academy Building, the Gilmanton School or the Year Round Library
or brought to the pantry during business hours. Checks can be
mailed to us at PO Box 6, Gilmanton Iron Works, 03837.
We are located on Route 140 in Gilmanton Iron Works, across from the
Iron Works Market. We are open on Monday 1 pm – 5 pm, Wednesday 3
pm – 7 pm, and Saturday 10 am – 2 pm. Parking is located in the
Gilmanton Community Church parking lot just west of the shop.

The members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ellis-Geddes-Levitt
Unit #102 of Gilmanton would like to thank all of the planners,
workers and sponsors of the 2013 Gilmanton Old Home Day for
providing such a wonderful community event.
Seventy-four visitors signed our Guest Book on Old Home Day; and our
heartfelt thanks go to all of those who stopped by and purchased
some of our delicious home-baked goods and took a chance on our
raffle. Judy Williams won the Linen Basket, Ginny Stanley won the
hand-knitted afghan and Betty Derby won the Lasso Golf/Bean Bag Toss

This year the Unit show-cased their new Veterans
project, Veterans at Rest in Gilmanton, NH. The purpose is to
locate the graves of Veterans in Gilmanton and to work closely with
the Gilmanton American Legion Post for the placement of flags so
that every Veteran is duly honored for their service to America.
This is truly a Community Project where everyone can be involved.
Contact our Unit at P.O. Box 56, Gilmanton, NH or
