Letter To The Editor

Dear Editor:
It is a rare event that prompts me to write a Letter to the Editor.  But, the recent (December 29, 2010) article entitled “Gilmanton Recycling Pays…Santa’s Elves Deliver” compels me to do so.

Specifically, I want to commend not only the article’s author but also its publisher for recognizing productive action not by a particular individual or organization but by a community.  Such public recognition is too rare.  It’s only through recognition of such positive public action with its financial payoff that even greater recycling success is likely to be achieved. Behavior that is recognized and rewarded is repeated.  Thank you!
