Wason-St.Cyr

 

Rebecca Wason and Devon St.Cyr were joined in marriage on June 27th, 2009, at Durham Evangelical Church in Durham, NH.


Reverend Ronald St.Cyr, father of the groom, performed the ceremony, along with Pastor Terry Sharbaugh. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Donald Wason. A reception was held at Gerrish Brook following the ceremony.


Maid of Honor was Sarah Wason, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Meagan Doyle, Rachel Conway and Megan McMahon, friends of the bride.


Best man was Abel Broughton, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Derek St.Cyr, brother of the groom, Neil Murphy and Andrew Richardson, friends of the groom.


The bride is the daughter of Donald and Nancy Wason of Barrington, NH. She attended Portsmouth Christian Academy and graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in History with Honors in History, Magna Cum Laude. She is presently interning at the Marine Corp Archives in Quantico, VA.


The groom is the son of Ronald and Christine St.Cyr of Gilmanton, NH. He attended Portsmouth Christian Academy and graduated from UNH with a B.A. in History and Honors in Classics, Magna Cum Laude. He has been commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp and is presently enrolled in The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, VA.


The couple presently resides in Stafford, VA.

 


 

Gilmanton Old Home Day


The 111th Old Home Day for Gilmanton will begin with a Sunday Service on August 9th, 2009 at 4 PM, at the Smith Meeting House.  The Meeting House is located on Meetinghouse Road, between Routes 140 and Route 107.


The festivities will continue on Saturday, August 15th, 2009 at the grounds of the Smith Meeting House.  The day will begin with a 10 AM flag raising ceremony, conducted by the American Legion Post #102.


Come join us for our old fashion, family-style bean hole bean and ham dinner!  Homemade pies are available for dessert.  Dinner services are at 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM.  Extra beans will be available for sale at 2:00 PM.


The Gilmanton Historical Society will hold a free evening presentation of “Gilmanton in 1900 - 1920” at 7:00 p.m. at the historic schoolhouse on the Smith Meeting House grounds.  Join us, to take a step back in time, and learn what life was like in Gilmanton at the turn of the century.


Come by and see the miniature horses!  Tiny Tails miniature horses will be at Old Home Day.  There will be a sheep/wool demonstration provided by Meg Hempel, Betty Abbott, and Pauline Marriott. Children and adults will love it!


Throughout the day, there will be an art show, various craft and sales tables, a tour of the cemetery, and activities for children of all ages.  An antique car auto parade will commence at 1:30 PM.


There will be various guests performing at Old Home Day this year, including music from the Acappella and Barbershop Quartet group REWIND!  All of the entertainment is free. Bring a lawn chair, sit back, and enjoy the day!  Please note that pets cannot be allowed on the grounds for Old Home Day.
