Announces Fall Area Honors Students
Lakes Region Community College in Laconia, NH, announces the President’s and
Vice President’s lists for the Fall Session ending in December 2008. The
President’s List, designating a 3.75 Grade Point Average (GPA) or above, is
the highest honor a student can achieve. The Vice President’s List denotes
an earned GPA of 3.30 to 3.74.

Education Is Offering “FREE” Basic Math And Reading Classes
Laconia Adult Education is offering “FREE” Basic Math and Reading Classes
starting on Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 6:30-9:00 pm stated Mrs. Peggy
Selig, Program Director. Improve your math and reading skills and eventually
work toward a GED Certificate or High School Diploma. On Monday, January
26, 2009 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. a Reading Comprehension class will be offered
in the subject areas of Science, Social Studies and Literature which are
pre-requisites for the GED Exam.
Stop being embarrassed about not being able to read or follow written
directions. If you are unable to help your children with homework, read
them a bedtime story, or fill out a job application, the Laconia Adult Basic
Education Program is for you. The Adult Basic Education classes will help
provide you with the reading and math skills that you need to get a job, get
off welfare, or even get a job promotion. The classes are individualized;
each student progresses at his or her own pace. There are no tests and no
one fails. There is no need to feel embarrassed or self-conscious if you
have weaknesses in reading or math. Improve your reading comprehension
skills and learn basic math skills from fractions, percentages, decimals to
Pre-GED math skills.
To enroll in the reading and math classes call the Laconia Adult Education
Office at 524-5712 or stop by the Adult Education Office located in Room
#108 at Laconia High School. There is no excuse for not being able to
read. Laconia Adult Education is here to help you turn your life around.

his or her reading or math skills, call 524-5712 for more information or to
enroll in the classes.
