The 1:30 p.m. movie
matinee at the Epsom Public Library on Wednesday, September 27, is
The Lost City of Z, starring Brad Pitt. The film tells
the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett who
journeys into the Amazon in the early 1900’s and finds evidence of
an unknown advanced civilization that might have at once inhabited
the region. Ridiculed by the scientific establishment, Fawcett,
supported by his wife returns to the jungle to prove his case where
he mysteriously disappears.
Wednesday evening,
September 27 the Epsom Public Library will be hosting Jane Kelly,
from On The Wing, who is a federal and state licensed rehabilitator,
educator, and falconer, specializing in raptors. She will be
bringing three birds of prey with her. A little over seven years
ago, Jane found 10 dead barred owls along the shoulder of Route 101.
It was a wake-up call to her and she became an advocate of
education and rehabilitation for birds of prey. The program is free
and open to the public.
Evergreen Lodge #53 and
Ivy Green Rebekah Lodge #36 are sponsoring another great Dinner Show
“ 80”s Flashback” on Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7 at the
American Legion Hall. The dinner/show begins at 6 pm and includes
appetizers, beverages, turkey, roast beef, vegetables and homemade
dessert. The show is directed by Elizabeth Lent and features all
local talent! Tickets are $25.00 per person or a table of 6 for

Epsom Pack 80 welcomes
all boys from K-5 to join Cub Scouts. Boys from Epsom as well as all
neighboring towns are welcome to join!!!
We will be holding a
recruiting/registration night Thursday, September 21 at Epsom
Central School (Blackhall Rd) from 6-8pm.
You can sign up that
night and/or stay and see and be a part of one of our monthly pack
meetings gong on then as well.

Baker Family Fundraiser
Please come to the Epsom
Elks Lodge on the evening of September 29 from 5-8 pm to help
support the Baker Family in their time of need. Their husband/father
unexpectedly passed away earlier this month due to a tragic
accident.
This local family needs
our support to help them through this painful time. We are hosting
a spaghetti and meatball dinner complete with salad, bread, drink,
dessert and coffee. Tickets are only $5.00 per person and will be
available at the door. We will also have raffle tickets for sale and
a 50/50. All of the event proceeds will go back to the Baker’s.

Epsom Bible Church AWANA Clubs
Awana Clubs at Epsom
Bible Church will begin our 2017-2018 season on Thursday night
September 21st. This will be our 31st year of having Awana Clubs and
we are thankful for the things God has accomplished through this
program in previous years.
For those of you who may
not be familiar, Epsom Bible Awana Clubs are a branch of Awana
International which started in the early 1950’s in a Chicago church
and has grown into a worldwide program teaching boys and girls the
Word of God in unique ways. Awana Clubs offered at Epsom Bible
include Cubbies for girls and boys ages 3 and 4, Sparks for girls
and boys in school grades K-2, as well as Truth and Training for
girls and boys in grades 3 through 6.
Each Awana night consists
of a game time, handbook time, and council time. Once or twice a
month we plan a special theme night. We try to make our clubs as fun
and exciting as possible. During Council time one of our leaders or
a special guest speaker presents a message from the Bible, and
awards are presented to those clubbers who have earned them for
completing handbook work.
Our Clubs are open to all
children in the Epsom area, and we would love to have your children
attend. You do not need to be a member of, or attend, Epsom Bible
Church, for your children to attend. Come to Club on the 21st or any
Thursday evening thereafter between 6:00 and 6:15 PM. Club starts at
6:15 and we end the evening at 8:00. Epsom Bible Church is at 398
Black Hall Road, approximately 3/4 mile past the Epsom Central
School on the same side of the road (look for the big sign out

Epsom Resident Performs In NFL Opener Pregame Show At
Gillette Stadium
Erin Burns of Epsom was
among the over two hundred Dean College students to participate in
the 2017 NFL pregame celebration held at Gillette Stadium on
Thursday, September 7, 2017.
Best experience ever;
Indescribable; Truly special; Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - these
are just a few words that Dean College students are using to
describe their experience.
Over two hundred Dean
College students, including Arts and Entertainment Management
(AMGT), Business, Dance and Sport Management majors, participated as
stunt card group members, banner holders and dance performers as the
New England Patriots faced the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL opener.
This is the second
opportunity for Dean College to participate, having previously
performed in the NFL pregame celebration in September 2015.
It was unequivocally
sweet for those students who performed for their second time.
“This is a
once-in-a-lifetime experience that I had the opportunity to
experience twice,” said AMGT major Pat Budris ‘19. “When we ran out
to the field, you could feel the electricity in the air. The crowd
was roaring; it was incredible.”
Jaclyn O’Keefe ‘18 also
participated in the 2015 performance and shared the same sentiments.
“Never in a million years would I think that I’d be able to
participate in the Patriots NFL Kickoff not only once, but two
times! My two experiences were different, but both indescribable.”
Sport Management major
Dean Bennett ‘18 was part of the night’s banner group, holding the
2017 Super Bowl banner with his peers at the 50-yard line. “This was
my first experience participating in the event and holding the
center banner was amazing. I was standing right next to Gronk (Rob
Gronkowski) which made the experience even better.”
Angeli Myatt ‘20 was
thrilled to participate in the stunt card group. “Getting the
opportunity to participate at the Patriots Kickoff is something I’ll
never forget. The energy on the field and in the stands brought such
a wonderful and happy feeling. Definitely one of my most memorable
nights!”
Even faculty members
participated alongside students, including Associate Professor of
Dance, Todd Shanks. “Exciting doesn’t even begin to describe it,”
said Shanks. “Dancing side by side with my students and colleagues
on the field, in front of over 60,000 fellow Patriots fans was
incredible. Beyond the experience of the performance, it was great
for all of us to be a part of such a large-scale production.”
The night turned out to
be a family affair for first year dance student Celine Santorsola
‘21, as she performed on the field alongside her sisters Adrena ‘19
and Leanne ‘16, current Patriots Cheerleaders. “It felt amazing to
walk in my sisters’ shoes for a night. I idolize them so much,” said
Santorsola. “If this is the beginning of my time at Dean, I can’t
wait to see what’s next.”
By the end of the night,
students were able to experience first-hand what it takes to produce
such a large-scale performance. In the upcoming weeks, students will
receive an event debrief in the classroom to bring the learning
experience full circle.
The opportunity was

Epsom Bible Church Free
Clothing Swap
In an effort to help
manage the cost of clothing for our community families, the Epsom
Bible Church will be holding a free clothing swap on Saturday,
October 21st, from 9-12 noon at 398 Black Hall Road in Epsom.
We need volunteers for
set up and break down, includes moving of tables and bagging
clothes.
You may bring donated
clothing beginning at 8:30 am. Clothing donations are not accepted
prior to the event.
All clothes need to be
clean and in good repair, and separated by size and gender. No rips
or stains please.
Both adult and children’s
clothing are accepted. No toys, equipment, or furniture please.
Clothes will be sorted
and distributed to tables by the person dropping them off. Once
clothes have been sorted and distributed, you are free to begin
gathering clothing in the sizes you need.
Any clothing left at the
end of the swap will be delivered to a local charity drop off site.
Volunteers for the clothing swap would be appreciated.
Swap will run from
9:00-12:00 noon. Volunteers are needed.
You do not need to make a
clothing donation in order to take clothing for you and your family.
