Convenience Store Retailer
Cumberland Farms announced today that Brianna Douglas from Epsom is
one of 130 talented high school seniors from 9 states to have been
awarded Believe and Achieve Scholarships to help them attend
college. Ms. Douglas will be heading to Cornell University this
fall.
Cumberland Farms’ popular scholarship program began nine years ago
and has provided more than $1 million in critical financial
assistance to over 1,000 college-bound young adults to help them
realize their dreams of achieving a college education. This year,
Cumberland Farms awarded $130,000 in Believe and Achieve
Scholarships to 22 students in Massachusetts, 34 in Florida, 30 in
New York, 17 in New Hampshire, 9 in Connecticut, 7 in Maine, 6 in
Vermont, 3 in Rhode Island and 2 in New Jersey.
“The Believe and Achieve Scholarship Program was founded in 2006
with the goal of helping hard-working and accomplished young adults
succeed. After nine years, and helping more than 1,000 students
with over $1 million in scholarships, we could not be more proud of
the difference we are making,” said Ari Haseotes, CEO of Cumberland
Farms. “Giving back to the community is an essential part of our
company’s mission, and we look forward to helping additional
students next year as we continue this important initiative.”
The program is open to students entering a full-time undergraduate
course of study at an accredited college, university or
vocational-technical school in the fall of 2015 who live within 30
miles of any Cumberland Farms store. Scholarships are awarded based
on a student’s academic performance and financial need, as well as
involvement in extracurricular activities such as community service
and athletics. The application process for next year’s scholarship
program will open in October.
Since formalizing its Corporate Giving Program nine years ago,
Cumberland Farms has donated millions of dollars in cash and
products to causes that directly benefit thousands of young people
through scholarships, direct-to-school programs, youth sports, local
fundraising and more.

Thank You
To family, friends, and all those who lifted Terry and I up with
prayer, and words of hope, support and love during these past 14
months saying thank you seems to fall far short of how we both felt
knowing you were all there for us. The gift cards and gas cards
brought Terry to tears on more than one occasion. His words … “I
didn’t know people cared so much about me.”
To our business associates and customers who allowed Granite Image
to operate through this challenging time with your loyalty and
patience thank you also seems to fall short. Your staying with us
through these months allowed us to keep moving ahead day by day.
Granite Image may still be ‘by appointment’ for a while longer but
it is my intention to honor what Terry created and proudly continue
serving your printing needs.
To all of you now reaching out to offer your sympathy and support,
the family and I are all truly grateful. It is a tribute to a man we
loved very much. During thirty plus years Terry and I were together
more hours of each day than apart. Not many couples have that
opportunity. Although I miss him deeply I still feel him by my side.
You are invited to join us at a Celebration of Life Gathering,
Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11am at The First Congreagtional
Church in Pittsfield.
If you won’t be able to join us at that time but have
something to share, please email me at
[email protected] or send to Granite
Image PO Box 683, Epsom NH 03234.
Heartfelt appreciation,

Epsom Gardens, A Few More Thank Yous
Not only does Alison Parodi do a wonderful job as Conservation
Commissioner, she has for years, weeded the gardens around the Olde
Town Hall. Thanks, Alison.
Another “thank you” to Kenny Brown for “bush hogging” area around
Olde Town Hall; specifically slope where Girl Scout Giving Garden
will soon spill over with pumpkin vines.
Thanks also to Bob Krowell who donated 20 pots to Epsom Library
Peas & Qs workshop. In addition to planting seeds in green pots
located at library, the children planted seeds & seedlings into the
large containers Bob donated which they took home.
Our next major project: Olde Town Hall gardens.
