Epsom Food Pantry
Well, another really busy week at the Pantry. Our table at the Polls
on voting day was a roaring success. Not only food, but we collected
$314 dollars from some very generous folks, and the fresh vegetables
have been awesome.
We were able to get a good meat order from the Manchester Food Bank.
So, along with some mighty nice looking chickens, we are doing well
in that department. One thing we do need besides soup is tuna. Now
with the kids back in school, it is a big help to mothers to have
tuna for sandwiches.
Oh, another thing I want to mention is the hours again. We are open
Saturday morning from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm and then on Wednesday
from 12:00 pm till 2:00 PM. As I have said before, we will take a
member if circumstances prevent them from normal hours, and we will
make arrangements to help out.
Do not forget to help us with our Thanksgiving table.
Until next time,
Priscilla
Letter To The Editor
Recently, an SVS reader used my name and “libtard” in the same
sentence. I presume the “lib” stood for “liberal Democrat”. I am
proud of my “liberal Democratic” moniker. I believe many people
believe in the same principals. How about you? Do you believe in:
1. Affordable healthcare for all Americans?
2. Breaking up big banks/monopolistic businesses/Citizens United?
3. Equal pay for equal work?
4. Fair taxation?
5. Marriage Equality?
6. Medicare as we know it?
7. Raising minimum wage?
8. Refinancing of student loans?
9. Reproductive rights?
10. Slow deliberation rather than fast swaggering into war?
11. Social Security?
12. Veterans benefits/G.I. Bill?
13. Women’s healthcare?
Whether you register(ed) Democrat, Republican, or Undeclared, if you
agree with over half of the above, I ask you to consider my
candidacy for your vote in the general election Nov 4, 2014.
Next time: Accomplishments of Democratic majority Legislative
sessions in Concord 2012 and 2013.
