Letter To The Editor
Dear Editor:
I want to take this opportunity to express my support for
Representative Tony Soltani in the upcoming state election for the
New Hampshire House of Representatives.
Representative Soltani has, over the many years, served his
community and this state zealously with the steadfast determination
to improve their welfare. Tony has shown that he is willing to take
a stance regardless of what is considered the popular political
position; he is more concerned about what is right under the
circumstances for the benefit of his constituents, rather than
personal advancement or the wishes of the Concord establishment. New
Hampshire, Epsom and Pittsfield in particular, are fortunate
to have a person of his integrity and caliber serving them.
I urge voters to return him to office this next election. The
primary is on September, 11, 2012.

Carolyn Puffer, Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Puffer has a BA in Fine Arts from Tufts University and a
Masters in Education (specific to counseling) from UNH. This is her
19th year at ECS.
Mrs. Puffer seems ideally suited for her position as she sits
quietly in her comfortable office, listening carefully to everything
said to her. Mrs. Puffer’s main responsibilities are to do what she
can to insure the emotional and physical well-being of ECS students,
whether from student inquiry or referral from teachers.
She is the 504 Plans Coordinator and creates accommodation plans for
students with handicapping conditions who do not require special
education.
Mrs. Puffer also works with the Student Assistance Team to discuss
students whom parents and teachers have concerns, whether
academic, social, or behavioral. She was, for seven years, the Title
IV project manager for safe and drug free schools. Mrs. Puffer loves
interacting with and helping both adults and students. It is a
tribute to her that, although Mrs. Puffer could retire, she
continues to do what she loves to do; helping people. She would like
to remind everyone that children are our most precious resource and
must know how much we all care for them.
Mrs. Puffer is a widow and has two adult children, a son living in
Maryland who coaches elite female soccer players, and a daughter who
works as a graphic artist in Manhattan. In her spare time, she loves
to be outdoors exercising, visiting with her family, and supporting
her church. She is just starting to learn what to do with her spare
time and is considering resurrecting her Fine Arts talents.

You Little Twerp!
I would love nothing better than to meet Republican Vice
Presidential candidate Paul Ryan this campaign. If I could, I would
grab him by the ear and bark: You! Stop! Commingling Social Security
funds with the General fund! You little twerp! (I often use “twerp”
endearingly.)
The original “tax fighter” (Ronald) Reagan must have rolled over in
his grave long ago. While President Reagan did lower the individual
marginal income tax rate from 70% to 50%, he signed into law 11 tax
increases. The most historic being a compromise with “Tip” O’Neil
which was “the” permanent fix for ‘baby boomer’ Social Security
recipients. America’s Social Security “Account” is solvent until the
late 2030s! Unless Romney-Ryan get their hands on it.
I believe most of us want to “conserve” things like Social Security,
Medicare, solid national “defense”. Most of us are “conservative”
when it comes to keeping good personal credit ratings, good business
credit ratings and we liked America’s “AAA” credit rating, which we
lost in 2010 due to the histrionics of the “2010 Congressional Tea
Party”.
Note: I respect the original grassroots “tea partiers”. But the
“brand” Tea Party was quickly co-opted by that same ole George W.
Bush crowd... It’s almost as though the likes of Carl Rove, Dick
Armey and Paul Ryan planned their two unfunded wars, two unfunded
tax cuts, ran our economy off the cliff hoping they could get away
with “stealing” from old people and the disabled.
Let’s truly vote our “values”.

To our constituents in Allenstown, Epsom, and Pittsfield:
We’re starting to think about bills to file for next year, and would
love to have your help in identifying problems or issues with the
current laws or regulations. Unlike Congress, or other states, in
New Hampshire bills can only be filed in a short time period – but
again unlike Congress, every bill gets a public hearing and a
committee vote, and is voted on by the entire House.
This year bills can be filed during 10 days in September, and then
during a three week window after the election. In order to do the
necessary research and line up co-sponsors, we like to put our bills
in during September. Anyone with an issue with the laws or rules is
invited to meet with us on Wednesday, September 5, from 5 to 7 pm,
at the Epsom Library.
Interested readers can email Carol for her newsletter.

Epsom’s Old Home Day 2012
This year’s Old Home Day was by far the best organized yet. The
people of Epsom owe a debt of gratitude to Georgia and Gary Perry
for taking time off from their jobs and giving their free time to
organize the committee so that our Old Home Day went off without a
hitch.
Unless you were involved in the process, you can’t imagine how much
planning it takes. We start meeting in April or May. It is amazing
how much time it takes to make all the phone calls, the mailings,
and contacts to raise some of the money. Georgia does all the
bookkeeping. I must say she doesn’t miss a thing. They plan for the
Bean Hole Bean Supper, the acts on the stage and they work on the
parade and organize the Duck Race. They do most of the ordering,
picking up and bringing back, setting up and taking down, getting
out and putting back. Unless you saw for yourself, you would never
know how much time and energy they put into Epsom’s Old Home Day.
Of course there are many other people involved, and I thank them all
for helping out. Without them we couldn’t possibly have pulled it
off. Working together is the key to success, and this year was a
success.
If anyone is interested in volunteering next year, please call. We
can always use more help.
Thank you all,
Richard Frambach
Letter To The Editor
We highly recommend Tony Soltani for re-election. We have known Tony
for many years and have been impressed with his record in the House
of Representatives. He has shown a high regard for life, family,
fiscal and Constitutional issues. We place high importance on
matters of family and life that comes up in New Hampshire. Tony has
shown that he holds these same values. Tony has also shown that he
does what he says and has an impressive understanding of law and how
it works in the legislature.
Please be sure to research the candidates thoroughly and we believe
you will vote for Tony Soltani of Merrimack County District
21, Epsom and Pittsfield.
The Primary election is September 11, 2012, and the general election
is in November.
Sincerely,
Rev. George E. Reese Jr., Rev. Karen Lee Reese, Ian Reese, Sean C.
