This is what happens when good donations get left outside when we
are not open. Someone left many bags of good clothing up against the
building. It rained, it poured, and the tops of the bags let water
in. We do not have the facilities to rewash clothes and dry them.
They were headed to the dump when a patron saved the day. She
brought them to her house and washed and dried them. Can’t thank
her enough. Please pick a time when we are open to drop off
donations.
We have dog blankets for whomever wants to pick them up. Give us a
call and we can save them for you. Also, free logo tee shirts, great
for gardening and painting. We are also doing a summer clean out
and many items are on sale.
We are on Rte. 28 North, next to Parker’s, Mon. 8-12; Tues. & Thurs.
8-4; Wed. 11-4 & Sat. 10-4. 247-7191.
Chichester Town Library News
Saturday, July 18th, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., is the “Down Under Used
Book Sale.”
There is always a great selection. This sale will feature picnics
and places to go, with an additional emphasis on Lucille’s
collectibles. The latter are always delightful and many people
have discovered some true treasures in these books.
The Lovers of the Chichester Library will meet on Monday, July 20th,
at 7 p.m. Do you want to meet some new people and become involved
with your town? This is a great way to do it. New members are
always welcome.
A Summer Reading Program event will be taking place at the library
on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 p.m. It will feature Doug Miner, Forest
Ranger. Although he may not admit to being a hero, certainly those
who choose that career qualify, as they face many dangers in their
job. Ranger Miner will explain about his work and some of the
dangers he has encountered.
As noted in an article earlier this year, the Library has passes
available for patrons to visit the Children’s Museum in Dover, the
See Science Center in Manchester and the Currier Museum of Art in
Manchester. This is a great opportunity to do something a little
different with the family.

Thank-you to the citizens of Chichester for your support as we

As most of you know, there is limited parking at the library. The
library does have an on-going agreement with the Hope in Christ
Church (Congregational) for additional parking in their lot. Recently we met with Pastor Dave and he is quite willing to have
library patrons use the parking lot for overflow events. For this,
the trustees and librarian of the Chichester Town Library want to
thank the church community and Pastor Dave for making this possible.
Details will be forthcoming on a mini farmer’s market to be held at
the library for Chichester residents the same time as the August
book sale!
