The Bee Hole Beavers Snowmobile club will be having their annual
meeting on Saturday April 11 at 3pm hosted by The Goodwins at 175
Coaster Rd. in Loudon. A Potluck dinner will be followed by the
election of officers and any other business to come before the
board.
Congratulations to Kendra Jarvis who received the Scholar Athlete
Award given by the NHIAA and the NHADA on March 16th. Kendra is a
senior at Concord Christian Academy.
Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m.
upstairs in the Grange Hall. Fred Carlson is in charge of the
program and Kevin Belval is in charge of refreshments.
On Wednesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at the town office the Parks &
Recreation Commission will present a draft plan for the second phase
of the Carpenter Park project funded by their second LWCF grant.
This year they hope to construct a community building to replace the
snack shack and to expand the playground area. Other features are
planned for next year. As with the first grant, they are soliciting
donations of equipment, materials, and labor as partial town match
for the LWCF funds. Please attend the meeting, hear the plans, and
find out what you can do to help.

Spring is truly here! Shorts, tee’s, sneakers, all coming out along
with some spring jackets and raincoats for the April showers. There
will be baskets of “free” items as we clean out winter and make room
for summer toys. There will also be a 25¢ basket of stuffed animals
to choose from.
We are on Rte.. 28, 5 miles north of the Epsom Circle, Chichester.

Chichester Town Library News
Pre-school Story and Craft Hour will meet tomorrow, April 9th, at
10: 30 a.m. If you have never come before, don’t feel shy! You and
your young one(s) are welcome to join Barb Pappas for a really nice
time.
The Craft Club for adults and teens will be meeting on Monday, April
13th at 6:30 p.m.
The Library Trustees will be meeting on Monday, April 13th at 3 p.m.
This is a public meeting.
Also on Monday the 13th, there is a program on soldering for
“crafters.” Please contact the Library to see if there is still
room and to reserve a spot. Thanks to Brad Towle for leading this
program.
Saturday, April 18th, is the first Down Under Used Book Sale of the
year from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s all about Outdoor Fun:
Sports, Activities and Grilling. It’s time to celebrate the return
of warmer weather! Come peruse the books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles
that are available. And, weather permitting, join in an outdoor game
of disc golf.
Save the date of Saturday, April 25th for movie night for adults at
the Library with The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Hope to see you

Citizens of Allenstown, Chichester, Deerfield, Epsom, and Pembroke.
We are a year from our towns’ school budget meetings, but work needs
to begin now.
The SAU, which performs certain administrative functions for our
districts, costs our towns millions of dollars. This budget is
created and approved without any direct input from voters. In this
insulated environment, the budget has grown out of control and with
very little correlation to services provided.
This year, Chichester voters disapproved a Warrant Article to
replace this system with one involving greater transparency and
community input. Supporters like me did a poor job of informing
voters, while some with interests in continuing the status quo
worked hard to spread disinformation.
I hope we can re-introduce the article next year in all five towns,
and will work this year to clarify what the proposal would and would
not do. In brief:
- It would require SAU budgets to be approved by voters
- It would motivate the SAU to explain and justify budget increases
- It requires us to get all five towns onboard.
- It would NOT withdraw us from the SAU
