Chichester NH News

Last week’s article on Old Home Day neglected to mention the Police Explorers. They came to Old Home Day to set up an informational booth, but they spent a great deal of time setting up tables and chairs and helping to prepare for serving the noon meal.  These young people are a fine example of what youth can do to make a community event successful.

Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

The backpack program went very well. If you would like to send a thank you note to Baby Theads (they provided the backpacks), you can mail it to the Attic and we will get it to the manager of Facebook, who will print it.  If you wish to sign a card, we will have one at the store.  We are at 345 Suncook Valley Hgwy, Chichester, NH 03258.

Please let us know what needs there are for the school-age children and we hope we can help.

I apologize for the days we had to close, but I have been out ill and we filled in the best we could.

Chichester Town Library News

The kids are back in school and the Library is a great resource to help ensure kids succeed in school.   September is “National Sign Up for a Library Card Month;” so, if you don’t already have a library card, come on in and sign up!   We will help in every possible way.

Teens got together for pizza and to talk about activities they might be interested in during the upcoming year.  Their first meeting date will be Saturday, October 4th at 10 a.m. at the Library for a step back in time to tie-dying a tee shirt.  Any teen in Chichester who has ideas for an activity and/or wants to join in the fun, drop by and join us.  Please bring your own shirt, and we will supply the rest. See you then!

The Library Trustees will meet on Monday, September 8th at 3 p.m.  This is an open meeting and the public is invited.

Also on Monday, September 8th at the Library, there will be a poetry workshop for adult writers at 7 p.m.

Interested in joining a book group?  What better place to do so than at the Library!  There will be an organizational meeting for those interested on Wednesday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m.   If you can’t make the organizational meeting, please contact the Library staff to let them know of your interest at [email protected] or at 798-5613.

There will be a meeting of the Lovers of the Chichester Library on Monday, September 15th, at 7 p.m.  Interested in helping the Library’s mission?  You are invited to join us at the meeting.

Save September 18th for a presentation at the Grange Hall at 7 p.m. on Lyme’s disease and the intricacies of the immune system by Chelsea Doughty, D.C.  Dr. Doughty is associated with Archeus Chiropractic and Wellness in Epsom.  More information will be forthcoming on this program.

Story time for preschoolers, ages two and up, starts at 10:30 a.m. on September 18th.
