Chichester Town Library News
Riley Kennedy
On Monday night, the Chichester Town Library held our first annual
Lego Derby. Bob Shaw, who saved the old 30 foot Boy Scout Pinewood
Derby track, provided the wheels and axles for contestants to build
their Lego cars on. Each contestant had 20 minutes to build the
fastest vehicles they could with the Legos that the Library
provided.
For much of the race, it looked like Mason Weir had built the
fastest car, but at the end Riley Kennedy’s car slid into first
place and won the Derby. Congratulations Riley! What an
exciting night! Riley will hold her trophy for the year, but she
will come back and defend her title it in 2015.
The July used book sale is scheduled for July 19th from 8 a.m.-1
p.m. Come and replenish your summer reading supplies!
The Lovers of the Chichester Library will meet on Monday, July 21st
at 7 p.m. All who want to help with planning and executing programs
and events involving the Library are invited.
Don’t forget to buy your tickets for the July raffle of a beautiful
picnic basket and all that is needed for a great picnic. The
bicycle raffles continue throughout the summer. These bicycles, one
designed for a woman and one for a man, would be great additions to
an exercise regimen or having just for fun. Each bike has a raffle
associated with it.
We’re only a week away from the “Science and Magic” program on
Wednesday, July 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Grange with magician Scott
Jameson, who will be exploring the connection between science and
magic/juggling. Mr. Jameson’s appearance is funded by the Jack and
Dorothy Bryne Foundation, CHILIS, Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and is
supported in part by a grant from the NH State Council on the Arts
and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds
administered by the NH State Library and provided by the Institute

Letter
Friends & Neighbors,
I have decided to run for State Representative to the N.H. House to
represent the citizens of Chichester and Pembroke.
Sally Kelly from Chichester will not be running for re-election and
she has encouraged me to run, and pledged her support, for the
upcoming election this Fall. Sally has served our community
admirably in the N.H. House and I only hope that I can meet
expectations and continue to build on the great work she has helped
accomplish over the years.
During this past Legislative session the Democratic majority was
able to restore a sense of civility and common sense to the N.H.
House that was lacking with the previous majority who controlled the
House. The new majority also worked conscientiously to
restore a sense of bipartisanship to the House which was evidenced
by the almost unanimous support in passing the biennial budget.
I am humbled to have the opportunity to step up to serve the people
of Chichester and Pembroke. I welcome the chance to continue the
great work accomplished during the last Legislative session by the
Democrat majority - fighting for working families, governing
responsibly, and most importantly, working in a bipartisan manner to
find practical solutions to the problems facing our great State.
I believe that my 12 years serving as a Chichester Selectman
provides me a unique perspective on many local issues facing smaller
municipalities and will help me bring valuable long term solutions
to our entire state. Serving the people of Chichester as
Selectman, I have learned many valuable lessons but most importantly
I have learned to listen attentively to people’s concerns, to be
respectful to all, and to be pragmatic in resolving issues. Those
are the personal qualities I will take to Concord as your State
Representative if elected.
