Help Needed!
Chichester School Board is putting together an energy
study group this summer. We are looking into ways to reduce
electricity usage, a more efficient means of heating the building,
and using solar power as an energy source. The intent of this study
group is to have proposals that the school board will consider
during this year’s budget season. If you’re interested in any of
these topics, particularly if you have experience/expertise in any
of them, we’d appreciate your involvement. Please contact Ben Brown
at
[email protected] or 798-4116.

The first of two used book sales in June is being held June 7th,
from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is also the annual plant sale. The plant
sale always has an excellent selection of perennial plants and
shrubs, including blueberries, beach roses, lilacs and more!
This is the same date as the Town-wide yard sale, so be sure to
leave room in your vehicle for your selected plants.
The second used book sale will be June 21st, as originally
scheduled.
The June raffle includes antique toy cars and a book, as well as a
gift certificate to the Longhorn Steakhouse. Come in to purchase
tickets for these unique raffle items.
There will also be summer raffles of two bicycles, each worth over
$200.00. They have 21 speeds and aluminum, low-standover frames.
Great for riding on either streets or bike paths, these bikes are
terrific items. The raffle tickets will cost a bit more than the
usual, monthly raffle items, but the prizes are certainly worth the
small investment.
Mark your calendars for July 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Grange for a
family-oriented magic program by Scott Jameson. This presentation
is in conjunction with the library’s sponsorship of the summer
reading program “Fizz, Boom, Read!” Both have a science theme as
their focus, with Mr. Jameson exploring science’s connection to
magic and juggling.
