Chichester Town-Wide Yard Sale 2014
The Chichester Firefighters Association will once again be
sponsoring the Chichester Town-wide Yard Sale on Saturday June 7th.
This is an early notice so you can set aside that day to either have
a sale, or shop the Town!
If you have a sale at your home we will place your sale on a Town
map. If you would like to bring your items to a more central
location, we will have spots available at the Town Hall parking lot
on Main Street. Finally, if you have yard sale items you would like
to donate to a local organization for them to sell as a fundraiser,
the Historical Society, Firefighters Association, and Bee Hole
Beavers Snowmobile Club will all be having sales that day. Contact
Paul Sanborn at 608-6252 and he will direct your items to your
chosen organization.
More info about being on the map or getting a sale spot will be
available as we get closer to June.
Chichester Town Library News
The works of Blaze Konefall, Chichester resident and artist, will be
featured in the Library for the months of April and May. The
contents of his show, entitled “Fantasy Flowers,” were inspired by
two life events—one from youth and one from the death of a beloved
aunt a year ago. His art is the result of a number of techniques,
including pen and ink, computer applications and editing and
printing. A reception will be held at the Library on May 17th.
The Library’s Story and Craft program for preschoolers and
kindergartners continues on Monday afternoons at 3 p.m.
The Ukrainian tradition of Easter egg decorating, pysanky, is a
beautiful art form and was a successful workshop sponsored by the
Library last year. The workshop will be repeated this year on
Wednesday, April 9th at 6:30-8:30 p.m. Again led by
Kristi Nyhan, the workshop can only accommodate a limited number of
participants, so sign-up at the Library is important.
On April 12th, the Library will be hosting a movie night from
6:30-8:30 p.m. Frozen will be shown and all ages are invited. And,
if parents want to leave their kids in the care of Library
volunteers while they enjoy dinner or shopping, they may do so after
providing contact and other appropriate information.
National Library Week is April 13-19th. The Chichester Town Library
will be hosting age appropriate library scavenger hunts for age
groups 2-5, 6-12 and 13-adult. Participants will have a list of
book titles to find on the Library shelves. Winners will receive
Chichester Town Library Lucky Bucks, redeemable for a free,
regularly priced book from the Down Under Book Store.
Chichester Agricultural Commission
If you have an interest in Agriculture, you might want to check out
the Chichester Agricultural Commission. Monthly meetings are held
the third Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Chichester Town Library.
Meetings are open to the public and all are welcome.
The purpose of an agricultural commission is to protect farmland,
support the local agricultural economy, preserve rural character and
promote local agriculture to community members and visitors. As
ambassadors of the farming community, agricultural commissions act
as educators, advisors, and promoters to help keep agriculture
viable in all New Hampshire communities.
The Chichester Agricultural Commission is partnering
with the Chichester Garden Club to present hands-on workshops and
educational sessions regarding a variety of farming aspects. Visit
the Town website www.chichesternh.org for announcements and meeting information. You may also
contact Secretary Ann Davis at 603-903-3891 or
[email protected] to find out more about this organization.
