Happy Belated Birthday to Julia Nadeau who celebrated her 16th
birthday on November 25!
Chichester Grange is collecting “Socks for Seniors” between now and
December 20. There will be a collection box at the Chichester Town
Library, but if you are not around during open library hours you can
put socks in the book drop. The goal is to have many pairs of new
colorful socks to distribute to older folks, especially those in
nursing homes, at Christmas time. Any socks will be welcome, but
colorful patterned socks are the goal of the program. Look for
stripes or spots or animal patterns – anything bright and cheerful
in adult sizes.
Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, December 3, at 7 p.m.
upstairs in the Grange Hall. Bring your ideas for 2015 to this, the
annual planning meeting.

Chichester Town Library News
The Library will be closed for Thanksgiving and the following day.
Although it is closed, we continue to give thanks to all of the
people who come to the Library and who support the Library and its
programs. The joys of reading and learning are just two of the
opportunities we should be thankful for during this time, along with
the blessings of friends and family.
Is your holiday budget out of control? Do you still have gifts to
purchase? Good news! The last Down Under Holiday Book Sale is
scheduled for December 6th from 9 a.m. to noon. There are many
books in mint condition, recently donated, that will be displayed.
In addition, the shelves have all been restocked in the previous
weeks for the reading public’s enjoyment. A better “deal” will be
hard to find! This is also a good time to stock up for the long
winter’s nights.
In the evening on December 6th, the Library will be hosting a
children’s movie night, along with a game night for those a little
older. Parents of children five years of age and older can take the
evening off to do some of their holiday shopping or to just enjoy a
quiet evening. Younger children, under the age of five, are welcome
to come to the movie, but a parent will have to accompany them. The
movie selected is “Nanny McPhee,” which is certainly a fun movie,
while also teaching that actions have consequences. Of course,
there will be popcorn provided!
We are in the final days for purchasing raffle tickets for the
Samantha Parkington American Girl doll. They are still available at
the Library until December 12th, when winner of the doll, her
outfits and related books will be selected at a party given, based
on a theme from one of the books. The party, scheduled from 7-8:30
p.m., is not only for those who have bought raffle tickets, but also
for all young children. The kids are encouraged to bring a favorite
doll, stuffed animal or other easily carried toy. And, it is
rumored that a special treat will be given to those who do! The
actual drawing will be held at 8 p.m.
Orders for the calendar compiled by the Chichester Photo Group
continue until November 29th. All profits are being
donated to the Food Pantry. What a great gift for
someone or for yourself, with scenes of Chichester throughout the
calendar.
Kindergarten Survey
In order to better plan for future programs and
offerings at Chichester Central School, we are currently trying to
reach out to all Chichester families and gather information about
future potential students and class sizes. If you have children at
home that will be enrolling in Kindergarten in the next five years,
please take a moment and visit this web address in order to fill out
a short survey: http://bit.ly/CCS_K_Survey There is a link to this survey on Chichester Central
School’s website,
www.sau53.org/ccs.
We would also appreciate you sharing this link with neighbors and
families of Chichester that are not currently connected with school.
Thank you for your input and your help.
