Calling all boys in grades 1-5! The Chichester Cub Scouts would love
for you to join us and find out what the FUN of scouting is all
about! Come to the Chichester Town Library on Monday, September 23,
2013 at 6:30 pm to find out more. We will be there to answer your
questions, share information about Chichester’s scouting program and
provide sign up materials.

Does someone’s drinking trouble you? Al-Anon is a supportive program
for anyone who has or has had a problem of drinking in a relative,
friend or parent. Al-Anon is anonymous. What you say here is not
said outside of our room.

In last week’s Grange article the name of Pittsfield Elementary was
omitted from the list of schools that will receive dictionaries from
Chichester Grange. That was a total accident. Of course the
Pittsfield third graders will have dictionaries this year. The
ordering process is now in progress.
Does anyone have ideas for a theme for Chichester Old
Home Day 2014? The theme is used in decorating floats for the parade
and sometimes to suggest events at Carpenter Park. Contact Hannah

Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

We are happy to tell you that the Day of Sharing took place in
Lancaster in August. The truck and trailer went up filled with your
donations of warm winter clothing, distributed free to those in
need.
We have a need at the Attic for boys basketball, mesh shorts! Seems
they choose to wear them year-round and we are out of stock. We can
also use the zippered plastic bags that sheets or towels come in.
They are the best for putting new sheets and pillow cases into for
your continued use.
We will have an assortment of matchbox cars and majorette cars, not
in mint condition, but used for fun and now ready to provide
entertainment for more kids. Some are 2/25¢, some are 25¢ and some
are 50¢, none are higher.
We are 5 miles north of the Epsom Circle in Chichester and are open
Mon. 8-12; Tues. and Thurs. 8-4; Wed 11-4; Sat. 10-4. You can call

Chichester Town Library News
The Chichester Town Library is offering our Preschool-Kindergarten
Story hour on Mondays at 3:00.
The children will enjoy two stories, a craft and a snack. Barbara
Pappas, a former preschool teacher, will be planning
the program. She has lots of fun and interesting projects and
stories to share. “Music in Our Pockets” with Jeff Warner, a family
event, will be at the Grange Hall on Main Street at 7 p.m. on
September 20th. This program is sponsored through a grant by the
New Hampshire Humanities Council.
The Lovers of the Chichester Library will be meeting at 7 p.m. at
the Library. Those interested in supporting the Library in its many
endeavors are encouraged to attend.
“Banjos, Bones & Ballads” or “Music In My Pockets:
Family Fun In Folk Music”
On Friday, September 20th, at 7 p.m., at the Grange Hall, 54 Main
Street, Chichester, the Town Library is pleased to present Jeff
Warner, one of the nation’s foremost performers/interpreters of
traditional music. Jeff will be coming to Chichester after touring
in California, including performing at the San Francisco Maritime
Festival. He has toured nationally for the Smithsonian Institute,
as well as internationally.
Jeff plays concertina, banjo, guitar and several “pocket”
instruments, including bones and spoons. He will use his skills and
talent to take the audience into the past to a New England town,
where families would be gathered around the hearth providing their
own entertainment.
This is a family event that should be lots of fun for all and
provide information about forms of amusement before computers or
even television. So, when the electricity goes out and the batteries
on your cell phone or computer die, Jeff’s presentation will help
everyone provide their own entertainment in the old-fashion way.
This experience is provided through a grant with the New Hampshire
Humanities Council.
Obituaries
Beverly M. Drew
Mrs. Beverly M. Drew, 78, a Chichester resident for the past 56
years, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Concord Hospital after a
short illness.
Mrs. Drew was born in Concord on October 6, 1934 to George and
Pauline (Truchon) Robillard.
She was employed by Blue Cross-Blue Shield for 25 years. After her
retirement she worked part-time at Grace Family Dentistry in Concord
for 11 years. She was a member of the Chipecho Women’s Club and the
Ladies Auxiliary of the Chichester Fire Department.
Bev led an active life. She enjoyed bowling, yard sales and
traveling. After retirement, she and Ed traveled all over the US and
Canada. She loved fishing and spending time with family and friends
at their camp in Dixville. She enjoyed regular trips to Foxwoods and
volunteering at the Capital Center for the Arts. She also loved
spending time with her grandchildren, taking them to the movies and
at times having all 10 of them spend the night!
Beverly was the widow of Edward Drew and was also predeceased by a
son, Mark Drew. She is survived by 3 children and their spouses,
Scot Drew and Carla, Debra Harris and Randy, and Christopher Drew
and Tina, all of Chichester; 10 grandchildren, Shannon, Lindsey,
Aaron. Meagan, Chelsea, Mallory, Karen, Brian, Bradley, and Laura;
14 great grandchildren, Connor, Molly, Olivia, Gavin, Giada, Tyler,
Penny, Gavin, Caleb, Alex, Gabriel, Eva, Olivia, and Julia; and a
brother, Paul Robillard of Concord.
