Chichester Town Library News
The holidays are within reach. It is a time of year we are thankful
for our blessings and mindful of those who may not have as much.
The Library is always a place where donations to the food pantry
can be made. Hopefully, the less fortunate will be remembered.
Also helping with the sweetness of the season is the December
raffle—an apple pie. Don’t forget to get your tickets! Word has it
this is one pie not to be missed!
And, if you need to boost your holiday spirit or find a place to
express it, the Library will be hosting a holiday sing-a-long on
Saturday, December 21st from 6-8 p.m. at the Library. Rumor has it
that Santa Claus plans to join the festivities! Cookies, hot
chocolate, coffee and tea should add to the enjoyment of the
evening! Mark it on your calendars now, before it gets lost in the
rush of the season.
This is also the time of year when days are the shortest and nights
are the longest. It is often cold outside and, if it’s too cold to
play outside, what kind of activities can we enjoy indoors? The
obvious offering of the Library is books to read or to listen to.
Either provide hours of entertainment as we curl up by the fire or
stove.
There are also puzzles and games available in the Down Under Section
of the Library where they can be purchased, along with used books,
when the Library is open.
In addition, the Library is the meeting place for a number of
groups, including the Crafts Group, Writers Groups, Photographers
Group and the Storytelling and Crafts Group for our youngest. The
LOCL (Lovers of the Chichester Library) meeting for Dec. will be
Dec. 16th--a week earlier than usual. Meetings of these groups are
listed in the calendar on the website and in media columns, such as
this.
Up-to-date information and/or reminders often appear on the Library
Face Book page. Please “like” us on Face Book and encourage your
friends to do so, too.
