Saturday, August 4, has been set as a Work Day
at Carpenter Park. Volunteers are needed to dispose of the slash
debris left over from the clear cutting of the new expansion zone.
Food and drink will be available at the park for volunteer workers.
Please wear appropriate work clothes and gloves. Children under 13
will need to be supervised at all times by their parents as there
will probably be heavy machinery and cutting tools on site.
Childcare may be available. If you are not a heavy lifter, perhaps
you could prepare food or provide childcare.

Local Photographers Featured At Chichester Library
Throughout July and August, the Chichester Town Library is featuring
photographic works by five Chichester neighbors.
Gail
Laker-Phelps retired from Concord School District where she taught
art for 29 years. She studied and worked in traditional color
photography for a number of years and more recently has focused on
fine art digital images and printing. Landscapes, still life,
architecture and abstractions have comprised most of her body of
work.
Udo Rauter devotes his time to bird photography in the
natural environment, with a special interest in warblers and
raptors.
David Rounds has been involved in the photographic arts
for over 35 years, both in the darkroom and behind the camera.
Although he continues to shoot and develop film in multiple formats,
he now practices a hybrid approach that combines traditional film
scanning and a digital work flow. Photographing nature, especially
flowers, has been a primary interest as he attempts to capture the
unique beauty they can contribute to our lives.
Barbara
Sinclair-Pappas focuses on the abundance of wildlife she discovered
in the yard and gardens surrounding her home in Chichester. Life
moves quickly and Barbara is continually fascinated by the
unexpected details her camera catches in a fleeting second. She
especially enjoys the intimate nature of macro photography and the
study of movement through continuous shooting.
Neal Scott has
been involved with photography for more than 40 years. Neal is
a certified Instructor/Coordinator of Basic Photography for Law
Enforcement at the Police Standards and Training Academy in New
Hampshire. His primary photographic work products are with people,
yet when time allows he enjoys capturing the elements with the
landscape. Currently Neal is self-employed as a photographer
specializing in Wedding, Special Events and Environmental
Portraiture.
The artists’ diverse backgrounds, the various
subjects and artistic approaches make for a most interesting and
beautiful show.
Please join us for an artists reception on
Friday, July 20th at 7:00 pm. If you can’t make it, be sure to drop
in the library and see this inspiring show.
Kids, don’t forget
to come in the library for a treat and raffle ticket for every three
hours you read each week.
We hope to see you at the library on
Friday, July 27th from 5 - 6 pm. Barbara Bold will bring her
workshop to us: “What Is In Your Backyard?” Meanwhile,
you can start looking closely and see all the animal life that you
can find in your backyard.
Letter To The Editor
Dear
Editor:
My name is Nancy R. B. Fraher, and with this letter, I
would like to announce my candidacy for the District 17 seat for The
New Hampshire State Senate!
I have lived in Chichester for the
past 20 years and grew up and attended public school in Pembroke.
I am a graduate of Plymouth State College and have just recently
retired after teaching for 35 years. Thirty-three of those years
were at The Moore School in Candia, two were spent in Germany at a
Department of Defense school, where I taught soldier’s children from
the 3rd Infantry Division. In Chichester, I served for six years on
the Chichester School Board and served two years as Chair. During
this time I also served many years as the President of The Candia
Education Association.
My experiences as a life long citizen of
the district and professional educator, in addition to my belief
that the people of New Hampshire ought to be represented by a
respectful and responsible political body, have inspired my decision
to run for State Senate. If elected, I bring a voice for the fair
finding of public schools. I will fight for collective bargaining
rights for our workers and will defend the medical rights of women.
But first and foremost, I believe in the sovereignty of the People
of New Hampshire! Your support and vote will be greatly appreciated
this November!
Nancy R. B. Fraher
