Doran Timm, a resident of Chichester, was named to the Fall Semester 2011 Deans’ List at Merrimack College. To be named to the Deans’ List, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.

The Chichester Food Pantry would like to thank the Corinthian Lodge of Pittsfield, Nellie Mitchell, St. Stephen’s Church, Davis Fuels, First Congregational Church of Pittsfield and the Chichester Police Department for their donations in February.

Chichester’s Town Meeting will be held on March 17 at the school. Usually the morning hours are devoted to review and discussion of the budget document and the afternoon is spent discussing and voting on warrant articles. Bring along a little money to buy lunch from the Cub Scouts or whoever is selling food as a fund raiser.

Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, March 21, at 7 pm upstairs in the Grange Hall. It will be Family and Community Night and the Baking Contest (Pumpkin Muffins) will be judged.

Happy Birthday to Matthew Morey on March 20.

Chichester Grange will be holding a Penny Sale at the Grange/Town Hall on Saturday, March 31, from 10 am until noon. The plan is for the Grange to raise some money and for everyone to have some fun. You can buy a block of tickets for two dollars which makes the cost of a single ticket about ten cents. You then distribute the tickets into containers next to the items you would like to win. The items are not new or expensive, but they are useful or decorative. When the numbers are drawn at the end of the morning, you are likely to win something to bring home. Please set aside the date and come to this family event.

Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

Submitted By Carol Hendee

We were trying to fix our VCR when I happened to catch a portion of the Nate Burkus show. I thought he was promoting the Attic! He had a segment on Thrift Stores and how they are so popular right now. "Save not Spend" are the buzz words. He had models showing two outfits, very similar. One bought from Neiman Marcus and one from the thrift store.

The thrift store outfit, skirt, blouse, shoes and handbag was $10. The Neiman Marcus, over $200! And the audience could not tell which was bought at the Thrift Store!

So, come see us for bargains on tops, shorts, jeans, skirts, sweatshirts, etc. We also have a nice selection of lunch bags, handbags and tote bags.

We’re open Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4 and Sat. 10-4. Our phone number is 247-7191.
