Free Fishing Day In New Hampshire
Free Fishing Day is coming on Saturday, June 6th, so make plans to get
out and try your luck on New Hampshire’s ponds, streams, and lakes. State
residents and non-residents can fish any inland water in the Granite State
without a fishing license on this special date. Take advantage of this event
to hit the water for a relaxing day of fishing with your family and friends.
Free Fishing Days kicks off 2009 National Fishing and Boating Week in
New Hampshire (June 6-14), a nationwide observance encouraging families to
have fun together on the water.
Adults just get one day to fish free, but kids under 16 do not need a
license to fish. Season dates, limits and all other fishing regulations must
be followed on Free Fishing Day.
If you get hooked on Free Fishing Day, enjoy the fun year round.
Fishing, hunting and boat licenses are available at the Chichester Town
Clerk’s Office.
Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News
By Ruthi True
A Young Volunteer
Danielle M., a volunteer from Hooksett has been a volunteer for about a
year with us here in Chichester. She comes all summer and during
school vacations to help. She has been collecting old worn sneakers at our
shop to be recycled through the “REUSE A SHOE” program from Nike. Nike uses
the shoes to make into material to be used in sports and playground surfaces
around the world. It is just another way to keep things from becoming
landfill waste. Thanks Danielle. I am a big proponent of buying used items
just for that reason. To be able to protect our land from waste isn’t always
hard.
There are many good items to be found at thrift shops that are
usable and it’s just a smart ecological choice as well.
Please remember that every purchase you make at “OUT OF YOUR ATTIC” in
Chichester helps us operate our nonprofit shop and do many worth while
things.
Lots of times we don’t have enough glassware and cooking dishes to keep
up with requests so if you’re spring cleaning and find something you don’t
want or need and the thought of putting in the dump sounds bad to you and
it’s still good, please donate it to our shop.
Please - NO AFTER HOUR DUMPING - we do appreciate all good donated
items, but there are other businesses in our little mall, and I’m sure they
don’t want a mess out in the front for their customers to see on days when
our shop is closed. You never know when that next rain shower will be
coming, and any moisture is deadly for our little shop.
Wish list:
1) Fish tank.
2) Baby furniture.
3) Small
household furniture.
4) Child’s “trailer” for back of bicycle.
Chichester Grange
Chichester Grange met on Wednesday, May 6, with Master Anne Boisvert
presiding. Wildlife sightings included a fox, an opossum, a raccoon, deer,
woodchucks, wild turkeys, a pileated woodpecker, a loon, gold finches,
purple finches, and hawks.
A date has been set to fluff up the mulch at Memorial Park.
During the business meeting plans for the Awards Night were finalized
and planning began for a brief Memorial Day observance to be held on May 30,
as it falls on a Saturday this year. The news of a proposed dues increase by
the State Grange was announced. Members were asked to begin thinking of a
place to hold the annual Eat-Out in July.
Carolee Davison presented a Mother’s Day program on “Animal Mothers.”
Members learned among other things that a baby platypus is called a puggle.
Following the program, refreshments provided by Ina Hilliard were enjoyed by
all.
