Stop in at the Chichester Town Library and look for one of these intriguing titles in the Non-Fiction section: Smart Cookies – Guide To Making More Dough by Jennifer Barrett, Unpacking The Boxes by Donald Hall, or Born Country – How Faith, Family And Music Brought Me Home by Randy Owen, Song Writer and Leader Singer of Alabama.

It’s time to take a look at your March calendar and pencil in the dates for Town governance. The School District Meeting will be Saturday March 7 in the morning. It usually doesn’t last much later than noon. Tuesday, March 10, will be Voting Day for Town and School District Officers. Be sure to cast your ballot and have in mind a few good, serious names for write-ins if necessary. Saturday, March 14, is Town Meeting Day. Be prepared to spend the day. Usually it is about 4 p.m. before the last article on the warrant comes up. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Consumers Respond To Sale Featuring Furniture Made In The USA

Harris Family Furniture launched their Celebrate your American Home promotion in January. The retailer partnered with domestic manufacturers to offer their customers discounts on products made in this country. “American’s make the finest furniture in the world, so it seemed only natural to feature American made products during this promotion” said Mark Morin the store manager of Harris Family Furniture’s Laconia store.

“New Hampshire consumers realize the overall positive impact they have by buying locally and supporting regional furniture manufactures. When they can get a great buy at the same time, it’s a good combination” said Russ Harris at Harris’s location on Tenney Mtn. Highway in Plymouth.

Will Harris at the company’s Chichester store reported, “Due to overall conditions, business has not exactly been booming, but it is encouraging to see consumers respond. Quality has never been more important, and when we can combine that quality with great prices it makes for a great value.”

The Celebrate your American Home promotion concludes on February 16th at all three Harris Family Furniture locations. More information can be found at the company’s website. www.harrisfamilyfurniture.com

Letter
Election Time

Hello, my name is David Kenneally.
I would like to point out a few of my accomplishments and qualifications.  Instead of hiring contractors to repair/rebuild, Center Road we did the work ourselves saving the town of Chichester a minimum of $200,000.00. I have put in place a bridge program to seal the bridges protecting the town’s investment. As well we worked on ditching the entire town and replacing culverts along the way to reduce the damages done by ground water and flooding. The floods we get every year do not cause as much damage due to the fact that these culverts have been replaced.

Over the past few years I have added equipment and trucks to the department which reduced the need for contractors. When I started, Chichester Highway department only had a Backhoe and a Grader, the highway department now has a Loader, an Excavator, Grader, three (3) six wheel dump trucks, a One-Ton and a Blazer saving the town of Chichester thousands of dollars every year in rental fees.

Most of this equipment has been purchased with money from my budget along the years. I want everyone to be aware and realize that for 2009 I have cut the Highway Department budget by $60,000.00 to help offset the tax rate increase this year. The Highway Department will be doing a little less this year, but in these times we all need to do our share, and like everyone else I am not just the Chichester Road Agent I am also a taxpayer.

My qualifications:
Master Road Scholar, NIM certified.
I have my CDL and have been working on these roads since the late 70’s. You will not find anyone more qualified or as knowledgeable about the roads in the town of Chichester.

R e-elect
David Kenneally
