The Chichester Town Food Pantry is in need of items such as toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, sanitary napkins, laundry detergents, and dish liquids. These non-edible items cannot be purchased with food stamps but are still necessary for daily living.

Are you willing to be a judge for the Old Home Day Parade on August 16 in the morning? Some training is provided. Please contact Donna Chagnon at 798-5318.


Chichester Town Library will be having a Book Sale on July 12 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. behind the Library on Pound Road. Come and find some good bargains.


The Chichester United Methodist Church will hold a Baked Beans and Salad Supper on Saturday, July 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall on Main Street. The family-style menu includes baked beans, brown bread, potato salad, cole slaw, cake, homemade pies, grape nut pudding, strawberry-rhubarb cobbler, coffee, tea, and milk.


Chichester Grange will hold its annual Eat Out on Wednesday, July 16, at the Cat & Fiddle Restaurant in Concord. The meal begins at 6 p.m. Please bring a non-perishable item for the Chichester Food Pantry.


Chichester Central Graduation

Chichester Central School's Class of 2008 graduated on June 20. Led by Seventh Grade Marshals Jessica Bonacorsi and Kelsea Clarke the class marched into the decorated multi-purpose room. Eli McTigue, Class President, welcomed family and guests.

A lengthy Class History was read by Megan Cwikla, Kelley Grant, Marisa Gray, Alicia Brown, Meghan Jenks, and Abby McCormack. Ben Kubat, James Paul, Isaac Pinckney, and Luther read the Class Will.

Meghan Jenks delivered the Commencement Address. The Class Gift of new microphone stands was announced by Jack Poirier, Class Vice President.

A video presentation by Mrs. Kate Dockham, showing each member of the 2008 class was shown on the screen at the front of the stage.

Principal Pamela Stiles began the awards presentation by giving the Kempton Ricker Award to Jack Poirier. Don Keeler, Commander of the Elwood O. Wells chapter of the American Legion, gave the traditional Legion medals to Meghan Jenks and Eli McTigue. Isaac Pinckney and Abby McCormack received the Irene Ricker Awards. Mrs. Bea Pszonowsky, President of the Chichester Teachers' Association presented the CTA Awards to Alicia Brown and Meghan Jenks.

This year the Chichester School Board _ Ben Brown, John Poirier, and Nancy Fraher was recognized at the State level for outstanding achievement. A proclamation by Senator Jack Barnes was read in their honor.

Kelley Grant, Meghan Jenks, and Eli McTigue were recognized for scoring above the national average on the Scholastic Achievement Tests. Eli McTigue was further recognized for achieving the highest score at Chichester Central.

The A. Allan Clark- Freda Jones Award for volunteerism was presented by School Board Chairman John Poirier to Wendy Harrison, PTO President. Marisa Gray received the Chris Thomas Award.

This year the Sanborn Scholarship was awarded to two recipients, Lindsay Jones and Beky Stiles. Both girls will graduate from Pembroke Academy this year and go on to college.

The Michael Booth Award was given to Molly Sykes. PTO Awards went to Hannah DeBold and Ben Kubat. Ben Kubat also received the Michael Pszonowsky Award.

Principal Stiles and School Board Chairman John Poirier presented certificates of graduation to Duane Anctil, Meghan Baker, Kaitlyn Brackett, Emerson Brooks, Tyler Cushman, Megan Cwikla, Hannah DeBold, Joe Doucette, Miles Eames, Richie Frost, Kelley Grant, Marisa Gray, Meghan Jenks, Ben Kubat, Chris Lakowicz, Abby McCormack, Eli McTigue, Candace Olms, James Paul, Emily Pike, Isaac Pinckney, Jack Poirier, Brent Sargent, Aaron Serfass, Molly Sykes, and Luther Tingley. School Board Member Ben Brown was called up on stage to present the graduation certificate to his daughter Alicia.

The graduates then sang "Farewell to Chichester," accompanied by Eli McTigue on the piano.

Following the recessional, graduates and guests enjoyed refreshments provided by the parents of the seventh grade class.
