Belknap County Sheriff’s Department
Submitted On Behalf Of Sheriff Mike Moyer, Belknap County Sheriff
On
February 2, 2019 the Belknap County Sheriff’s Department in
partnership with the Belknap County Drug Task Force, Belmont, New
Hampton, Tilton Police Departments and the Belknap County Attorney’s
Office conducted a drug intradiction operation in the towns of
Belmont, New Hampton and Tilton. This was a combined resources
operation targeting drug trafficking and possession of illegal
narcotics in and around the communities.
As a
result of the daytime event, Investigators conducted 109 traffic
stops, made (6) on-site narcotic violation arrests, (6) outstanding
warrant arrests, (1) DWI arrest and (1) arrest for disobeying an
officer. Additional arrests may be forthcoming as the investigations
continue.
Belknap
County Law Enforcement will continue ramping up efforts to identify,
arrest and convict those who traffic and possess illicit drug in our
community. Funds provided by the 2019 Opioid Reduction Grant, which
were awarded to the Belknap County Sheriff’s Department and partners
in late 2018, have proven to be beneficial to the efforts of drug
intradiction. Our mission is to continue to conduct intradiction
operations and illicit drug trafficking, drug distribution and drug
possession investigations throughout the remainder of the year.
“If you
are a drug trafficker or drug dealer in our community, let it be
known we are looking for you, in time we will find you and we will
put you in prison. We have a compliment of dedicated drug
investigators and highly skilled patrol officers who are actively in
pursuit of you. Your time is coming.”
The
Belknap County Drug Task Force along with participating area law
enforcement agencies cannot be successful without the assistance and
support of the citizens. We welcome information as it relates to
illicit drug dealing and criminal offenses and will continue to
follow up on leads/tips as they are developed.

Community Game Night February 16th
Yeaw,
it’s February already. That big blood red eclipse is history!
I did get to see it though, through my steep skylight, my not so
steep one was still covered with snow. So I had to squeeze up
close and look up through a very obtuse angle. To be honest, I
didn’t think it was very red, but what do I know. I do know
that we’re going to have another get together on the 16th for
another game night up at Sticks and Stones Farm. It will be
just a few days before this months full moon, so with the snow, it
will truly be bright outside if it’s a clear night. Stop on by
and spend some time with us playing games or just sitting by the
wood stove.
Last
month it was so cold and windy that everyone kind of congregated in
the area around the wood stove. A couple of new families
joined us and we hope they all come back and bring some friends.
There has become a regular cribbage rivalry going on. I’ve
been able to keep up well enough but last month the cards just
weren’t very agreeable. Too many 19’s. All I can say is
at least I didn’t get skunked. We’ll keep trying. Home
rollin bowlin is always popular as there’s no limit to the number of
people who can play at one time. So we hope to see you there.
It will
be happening at Sticks & Stones Farm, which is located at 107 White
Oak Road in Center Barnstead. which is located on the right side,
not to far from the top of the hill when coming from Route 28. There
will be snacks and hot chocolate and cider as well as other goodies
I’m sure. So please consider coming over. Bring a
friend, bring your family, and bringing any beverages you’d like to
drink. It’ll be February 16th from 5 to 9PM so we hope to see
you there. Brought to you by the Barnstead Agricultural
Association. For more information call: 603-776-8989 or
