Barnstead
Parks and Recreation Commission
The Barnstead Parks and Recreation
Commission is seeking new members. This five-member commission is
responsible for running the seasonal youth soccer, basketball and
archery programs, as well as special annual events including the Easter
egg hunt, Fire and Ice, Trunk or Treat and the summer concert series.
Additionally, the commission is responsible for oversight of the town
beach and Big River Recreation Area. If you have time to give and are
interested in keeping these important community traditions alive, please
submit a letter of interest to the Barnstead Board of Selectmen, PO Box
11, Center Barnstead, NH 03225
The Town of Barnstead is currently
hiring beach attendants for this coming season. This is not a life
guard position and applicants must be 18 years of age. Job duties
include checking beach goers identification, keeping the area clean and
monitoring the property. Applications are available at the
Barnstead Town Hall.
We will be holding a Spring Clean Up Day on
June 3, 2017 from 9:00am to 2:00pm. We will be raking, fixing
broken boards on the ice rink, picking up trash, repainting the
basketball court, hanging new basketball nets and other miscellanies
activities. Everyone is welcome to come down and help clean up
this area to get ready for the kids to use this summer. High
School students can use this opportunity to obtain some community
service hours. Please contact us at

with any questions.
