ICE CREAM SOCIAL & PICK-A-PRIZE RAFFLE

 

On Wednesday, July 8, an old fashioned Ice Cream Social will be hosted by the Strafford Women’s Club, 4:00-8:00 PM, Bow Lake Grange Hall, 596 Province Road, Strafford, 664-2688.

 

This fundraiser provides college scholarships and benefits community projects.  Large Sundaes are$3.50; Small-$2.50.  Your choice of many toppings: candies, fruits, & hot sauces.  Top it all with whipped cream and a cherry.  Add a homemade brownie for 50 cents.  Pick-a-prize raffle tickets $1.00 to be drawn at the second Ice Cream Social, August 5.

 


 

Congratulations to Benjamin Couch of Barnstead who has graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of  Science degree from the University’s Wallace E. Carroll School of  Management (major(s): Finance).

 

Commencement was held on May 18 in Alumni Stadium on the Boston College campus in Chestnut Hill, Mass. There were more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate degree recipients in the Boston College Class of 2015.

 


 

Barnstead Firefighters Association 5K Road Race/Fun Walk

 

The Barnstead Firefighters Association is pleased to announce its 4th annual 5K Road Race and Fun Walk to start at the Barnstead Parade grounds on August 22 at 9am.

 

The course is an “out and back” that follows the Suncook River from the Parade to the intersection with Rt. 126 and then returns to the Parade along the same route for the Finish.  The race course is USATF certified for accuracy and is considered flat and fast. Refreshments will follow the race along with a Fun Race for the Kids.  

 

There is also a team category-prizes will be awarded to the first team of four or more to finish.

 

Pre-registration is $20 and must be received by August 15, 2015. Registration forms are available at www.bfr06.com; Email: [email protected] or Call: 603-312-5648.  Online registration is also available at www.running4free.com.  Race Day Registration is $25.

Summer Reading Program Begins!

 

Readers can begin recording books for our “Every Hero Has A Story” Summer Reading Program on Monday, June 29th. Whenever participants record books or attend library activities they will receive a raffle ticket to enter to win exciting prizes. Stop by the library to record or go online! Weekly activities will begin on the week of July 6th. Check out our online calendar for events or stop by the library to pick up a hard copy. 

 

Please call the library (269-3900) or visit our website (oscarfoss.org) for more information about these or any of our other programs or events. There is always something happening at the Oscar Foss Memorial Library! Center Barnstead Christian Church News

Center Barnstead Christian Church is excited to be hosting Dr. Jimmy DeYoung

 

July 5th, 6th and 7th.  Dr. Jimmy DeYoung is a prophecy teacher and journalist who travels the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word.

 

Dr. DeYoung has resided in Jerusalem for at least a portion of the year each year for the last 23 years where he held full credentials as a journalist in the second most populated journalistic city in the world. On his travels throughout the US and around the world, Jimmy brings with him the latest news from out of the Middle East with a unique blend of political, biblical, and prophetic insight that cannot be found in the media today.

 

Jimmy has met and interviewed many international leaders including: Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, former Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon and Ehhud Olmert, Israeli President Shimon Peres, former Jerusalem Mayors Teddy Kolleck and Ehud Olmert, former Defense Minister Moshe Arens, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher, and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

 

Dr. Jimmy DeYoung is seen on the Day of Discovery television program, which is produced in the Middle East. He is also heard daily and weekly on the radio and internet, with the latest reports from the Middle East on several networks consisting of over 1,500 stations. He is also seen on the John Ankerberg Television program.

 

Dr. DeYoung will be speaking at 9:00 am, 10:00 am and again at 7:00 pm Sunday the 5th of July.  Dr. DeYoung will again be speaking on Monday the 6th at 6:00 pm and again on Tuesday the 7th of July at 6:00 pm.  This should be an exciting time as we hear how Dr. DeYoung relates current events to Biblical Prophecy.  Please Come and join us as we gain a greater understanding of the “End Times” of the Bible.

Obituaries


 

Kelly A. Soucy

Manchester - Kelly A Soucy, 33, of Somerville St, died Saturday, June 6, 2015.

 

A lifelong resident of Manchester, Kelly was the son of the late Paul R.J. Soucy and Nancy (Filip Lyons). He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and honorably discharged in 2009 after serving tours in Iraq. He was most recently employed as a cab driver for Red Sea Cab Company. He was a member of the American Legion, Manchester Post 43, and Warrior Pointe. Kelly enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and debating over many subjects about which he was passionate.

 

Kelly is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie; son, Waylon; brother, Steven P. Soucy; sister-in-law, Stacy Antonelli; and his sister, Lisa M. Soucy.  He also leaves nieces Stephanie Riccio and Rebecca Soucy; nephews, Nate and Justin Soucy; and several aunts and uncles as well as his Army Family of D 1-12 ID, D 2-7 Cav Gary Owen and the ghost Batallion, C Co 2-27 AR, 1st BDE 2IE.

 

In addition to his parents, Kelly was predeceased by his sister Kristy Lynn Soucy and his brother Kevin Robert Soucy, all since 2000.

 

A gathering to share memories of Kelly was held on Sunday, June 28 from at Still Oaks Funeral and Memorial Home in Epsom. Services and Burial were held on Monday, June 29 at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

 

Floral arrangements for those wishing to send flowers may be made through Kreative Flowers and Gifts, 114 Dover Road in Chichester or by calling 603-961-0188.
