next performers in the Summer Concert Series on July 26, 2014 at 6:00
pm. Influenced by such greats as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who and
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, this fun and entertaining band is sure

back yard. Take a tour, sample the products offered by your friends and
neighbors at their fine farms, and then join us for the show. Please be
sure to support Friends of the Oscar Foss Memorial Library, who will
offer concessions this evening. Smoking, alcohol and glass containers
are prohibited on the Parade Grounds. As a reminder, there is no
concert on Saturday, August 2. See you at the show!
Letter To The Editor
American
Legion Auxiliary
The honor
and sacrifice of our country’s military service members come to mind
when we see images of men and women deployed overseas or a young child
being reunited with his/her mother or father who was serving abroad. All
of these images tug at the heartstrings, but once gone, they are quickly
forgotten.
Our
military troops serving around the world continue to join the ranks of
America’s more than 22 million veterans. The transition back to civilian
life is not always an easy one - many troops will come home to Veterans
Affairs hospitals, struggle to find employment and try to relearn how to
live a daily civilian life. There are many ways local residents can help
returning troops make this transition. As a member of the Earl B. Clark,
Unit 42 of the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), you can support and
honor the sacrifice of those who serve. We understand the value of
community service and know first-hand that our freedoms don’t come
without a price. We have a passion for helping others and the dedication
for making the lives of our veterans and military families easier.
If you are
a wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, granddaughter or
great-granddaughter of a war-time veteran, or if you are a veteran
yourself who has served our great country, I’d like to extend the
invitation for you to learn more about our organization by attending an
upcoming meeting. Please join us on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 6:30 pm
followed by a potluck shared with the American Legion members at Post
42, 1038 Beauty Hill Road, Barnstead, NH. For further information or
directions, call Carol 269-4694 or Cindy 776-3091.
