On Saturday, August 17, Barnstead Parks and Recreation
proudly announces the return of High Range to the concert stage. An
energetic roots/folk/bluegrass group with a long list of rave reviews
from national publications, they highlight original music with a mix of
cover songs on guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and drums.
One reviewer is quoted as saying, “High Range has forged a tight,
compelling ensemble sound that is highly musical and thoroughly
entertaining.”
Bring your
lawn chair or blanket, grab your friends and come check out their unique
sound for yourself. As always, smoking and alcohol are prohibited on
the Parade Grounds. The Barnstead Summer Concert Series is a free event,
and the show starts at 6:00 p.m. See you there!
Celebrating
Anniversaries are: August 14, Dr. Leon and Laverne Bly.

Wishes!

Letter To
The Editor
The 2nd
Annual Barnstead Open Farm Day 2013 was a success. Lots of folks came
out to visit our farms and talk with our farmers.
The
Barnstead Farmers and Gardeners Network, and our farmers, want to thank
the local businesses who were very supportive of our event; Blueberry
Station, Clark’s Grain Store, Dominick’s Restaurant and The White
Buffalo Trading Post. These folks put out our booklets and give up space
on their own business signs to promote this event. We are so grateful
for their generosity and support.
We also
want to thank the Suncook Valley Arts and Artisans Tour for their
support. These talented folks worked hard to make this year’s event a
success. Thank you for all that you did.
We are
already working on next year’s Open Farm Day, and look forward to
offering the public an opportunity to see our farms in operation.

8 year old
Greta Wiborg, took these photos one morning on Upper Suncook Lake and
thought you would enjoy them. She has a love for photography and loons!
Often times, the loons come calling and she responds with an impressive
loon call of her own. (which she has been perfecting since the age of
3.)
