The
Barnstead Historical Society, at its special meeting on Jan. 10, voted
to put the Pinkham Property Purchase for a vote at the Town Meeting in
March.
Following
discussion at a well attended meeting, moderator Ken Burt, co-chair of
the future planning committee, called for a vote, which passed by a
majority.
A second
vote was taken on a motion to prepare the necessary warrant articles for
Town Meeting, for the purchase, including use of money in the Barnstead
Historical Society’s Building Capital Reserve fund. This motion also
passed.
Representatives from the Pinkham family in attendance, Alan Pinkham and
Mary Ellen (Pinkham) Langer agreed to reduce the purchase price for the
benefit of the Town.
