Letter
With regret I hereby resign from the Barnstead/SAU 86 and thus the
Prospect Mountain school boards, effective July 24th.
The level of commitment required to serve this post with integrity
creates too many conflicts for me and my family. A year ago I sincerely
tried to assess my ability to fulfill this role in harmony with
family/professional duties and ongoing academic studies; the desire to
serve on the board conquered a reluctant reassurance that our family
could assume this extra burden in a healthy manner.
After careful consideration, I recently accepted that I cannot continue
to meet all my commitments with the proper dedication owed to them, and
board service naturally ranks after family, professional goals/duties,
and my post-graduate studies which contribute to the future of both.
I appreciate and am honored by the confidence placed in me through the
votes and support of fellow residents. I commend my fellow board members
for their dedication and service to our community; it has been an honor
to serve with them. My goal remains to advocate for our schools, their
personnel, and our students now and through the economic and
legislative/policy challenges ahead. Thank you for understanding.
Sincerely,
Shawn White
