I
wholeheartedly support Greg Hill’s campaign for the New Hampshire House
in Merrimack District 3, comprised of Northfield and Franklin Ward 3.
In fact, if I could ensure only one representative to get re-elected
this year, it would be Greg Hill.
Rep. Hill is smart,
hardworking, and principled. Together, we worked to greatly expand
options for the education of NH children, and it is vital to re-elect
Greg Hill to continue to expand options in education.
Providing choices for parents in education is by far the most effective
reform, proven by numerous studies. His work on education tax
credits, and expending the highly successful charter school program will
have a positive impact for years to come. And there is no way these
improvements would have been successful without Rep Hill.
Rep
Hill is also one of the smartest, hardest working, and most principled
representatives I know. Please support the re-election of Greg Hill to
the NH House!

Dear citizens:
You may not know me. I will appear
as a candidate for the State Legislature representing the Democratic
Party in the 8th District, a floterial made up of Barnstead, Alton and
Gilmanton. I am known in the community as Tess Smith but you will
see me on the ballot as Roberta Smith.
I have lived in New Hampshire
all my life and in Barnstead for over 20 years. I went to school in New
Hampshire and have a degree from the UNH. I have two children and
three grandchildren, who are in college. My husband had a liver
transplant over 7 years ago. We own our home. I am a small business
owner who employs 4 ladies in our community. We have two seniors in our
family over 85.
So, therefore, I am concerned, as I know you are, as
to how the current legislature has impacted our world over the last two
years. Here is just one example.
There is a new law that allows New
Hampshire businesses to get a $2,500 tax deduction when they provide a
scholarship to a New Hampshire student. Well, let’s look at that.
That $2,500 will not allow a low income student to go to a private
school, but might provide reduced tuition for a higher income family. It
could divert over $50 million from going into the state’s coffers to
support public schools. That money may be made up from local
property taxes.
Please think really hard about the radical agenda
that has occurred during the past two years. Look at the
out-of-state money that has impacted our election choices and laws.
Agree that we need a change. Vote in that change. Vote Roberta Smith for
State Legislature in District 8.
