creating
their own snowgirl Brownie Troop.
On Friday

presented the Barnstead Thrift Shoppe/Food Pantry with 123 articles of
food. It was part of their project of collecting 100 cans in 100

Letter To The Editor
As a
taxpayer and an elected official in the Town of Barnstead, I applaud any
person willing to run for elected office and willing to give their time
to help conduct the Town’s business and responsibilities.
As
Chairman of the Town of Barnstead’s Planning Board, I thank all of the
candidates who have signed up to run for the two open Planning Board
seats for this year’s election.
I want
to express my support for the two incumbent candidates for Planning
Board: William Evans and Clark Goodrich. These two
experienced board members are very valuable members of the Planning
Board. They each are willing to assume responsibilities in
addition to their basic duties for the Planning Board meetings.
These two incumbent members are significant contributors to the Board
and to the Planning Department for the Town of Barnstead.
I urge
you to cast your votes to re-elect William Evans and Clark Goodrich for
Planning Board.

Barnstead Selectman
The
position of a selectman is not an easy one, but I know I have the
qualifications to fill this position.
I am a
Bentley College graduate with a degree in accounting and finance. I used
this and my management skills to run my construction company for over 35
years, which employed over 30 people.
Being
the first owner of Barnstead Motorsports, I know what it takes to have a
business in Barnstead. If elected, I will work hard to promote
more business in town to help the people of Barnstead.
Currently I am employed part-time at Sears in Concord and have a small
tax practice. My son, Michael, is an on-call Lieutenant for the
Barnstead Fire Department and my wife, Paula, works in the Building
Inspectors office. This being said – I want to assure you that if I am
elected I would recuse myself if my family were directly involved in a
situation and all non-public sessions would be held strictly
confidential. I pride myself in being an honest person.
Given
the chance, my hope is to work with the other Selectmen to help the
people of Barnstead without taking any more money out of their pockets.
On
March 8th please cast your vote for me and I will do my best to help
you.
Thank
you for your support.

Barnstead:
Hi, my name is Jim Doucette and I have worked for the
Barnstead Highway Department for over ten years. I ran for Road Agent
three years ago because I was not happy with the direction in which the
department was going. Since then, I have worked with Chris Carazzo and
have seen the Highway Department improve quite a bit. Mr. Carazzo has
shown that he is capable in many instances, such as the tornado of ‘08,
ice storm of ‘08, and numerous storms and also the day to day repair and
maintenance.
I am
writing this letter to urge all who supported me three years ago to
consider voting to re-elect Chris Caruzzo as your Road Agent. I feel he
is your best choice for the position.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jim Doucette
Letter to the Editor
My name
is Francesca Latawiec and I am writing to introduce myself as a 25 year
resident of the Town of Barnstead and to ask for your vote for the
office of Planning Board on March 8, 2011 I am running for office
because I have a desire to serve the people of the town of Barnstead and
I have technical expertise in land use planning. I have served on
the board in the past and look forward to making that commitment again.
I have a BS in Geography with a concentration in Planning and an MS in
Soil Science. I am certified as a wetland scientist and
licensed as a professional geologist in the state of New
Hampshire. I administered the water protection assistance program
for the office of state planning for 18 years and have served as the
planning and zoning administrator for the town of Lyme, NH.
I have extensive experience in the development and implementation of
local and regional plans and ordinances. I have previously served
on the Barnstead Planning Board as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and an
alternate member.
I feel
that the major challenge that the planning board faces today is updating
the master plan, capital improvements program, the zoning ordinance,
subdivision and site plan review regulations to meet the ever changing
needs of the Town of Barnstead. This is important both in today’s
economic climate and the future.
If
elected I will work with the planning board and other town departments
and committees to take advantage of the current slow time in
permit activity and concentrate a renewed effort in doing some sound
planning. I feel that it is imperative to develop the proper
planning and regulatory tools to allow the Town of Barnstead to
effectively meet both current and future land use development and
natural resource protection needs.
Thank
you for your consideration,
Francesca Latawiec
