Home Day is in need of volunteers to join the Old Home Day Committee and
help organize this year’s event. If we are unable to get some more
people this year’s event will not occur. Specifically, we need one
or two people who have good organizational skills to help run the Old
Home Day Committee.
If you are good with people and want to
ensure Barnstead Old Home Day happens again in 2010, please join us our
next meeting on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Barnstead Town
Hall.

North Barnstead (UCC) will be hosting the World Day of Prayer
service on Friday, March 5, at 7 PM.
The women of Cameroon,

families who are victims of poverty, violence and human trafficking.
Come join us with others from area churches: Alton, Barnstead,
Gilmanton, Pittsfield and Milton in an evening of friendship,
fellowship, prayer and song celebrating women’s ecumenical ministries
toward justice, peace, healing and wholeness.
Light refreshments will
be served. The Church is at 504 North Barnstead Rd.
In case of
inclement weather, the service will be cancelled. Contact person is

Barnstead-Alton Republican Committee
The Barnstead-Alton Republican
Committee (BARC) will hold their next monthly meeting on Tuesday, March
9 at J.J. Goodwin’s Restaurant (upstairs), 769 Suncook Valley Rd (Rt
28), Center Barnstead - (603) 364-9780. Following our normal format,
dinner (at your option) is at 5:30 pm; the meeting will begin at 6:30
pm.
Join us at our next BARC meeting as we continue our series of
open discussions of issues with key leaders and candidates. This month,
we are honored to have former Gov. John H. Sununu as our featured guest
speaker. Gov. Sununu, Chairman of the New Hampshire Republican
Party, has already helped to turn the tide in NH with wins in special
elections statewide during the past year. Gov. Sununu understands
New Hampshire and the issues that must be addressed and resolved in
order to make New Hampshire an attractive state once again in which to
reside and to operate a business.
Also, in recognition of Women’s
History Month, we will be honoring our female State Representatives:
Laurie Boyce, Alida Millham, and Elaine Swinford; our Area 5 Vice
Chairman Fran Wendelboe, our National Committeewoman Phyllis Woods, our
Register of Probate Karen Brickner, and our former State Representative
Janet Allen. Any other Republican women from Alton or Barnstead
who have served in elected positions are also invited to attend.
Our
meetings are informal yet informative; please feel free to drop in and
join us. The 2010 election season is in full swing and we have
many fine candidates for elective positions and Republican leaders who
will be joining us each month. In addition to focusing on
candidates, we will continue to discuss the hot topics from Washington
and Concord, as well as the state and federal constitutions.
I
hope you will join us for an evening of lively and interesting
discussion with Gov. Sununu along with honoring our women in office.
All Republican and Independent/unaffiliated voters are invited to attend
the meeting.
