On April 26, 2009 Barry University’s Office of Student Activities held their annual 2008-2009 Awards Banquet to recognize the drive and hard work of their student body. The University recognizes two students from each class in the undergrad schools. The criteria for which a candidate is nominated by faculty members of the University include; good academic standing and good standing within the University, the students demonstration of clear and concise leadership qualities, involvement in organizations within the campus, has shown the  ability to follow and execute the vision and mission of the University, and has demonstrated great drive and passion towards their work. These awards represent the highest recognition the University gives.

The Pagán Irizarry Family is pleased to announce that one of the two recipients for this year’s Excellence in Leadership Award at Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida, was their daughter, Amor del Mar Pagán Irizarry. Amor is in the process of completing her first year, currently seeking a dual-undergrad degree in International Business and Marketing.
